    AR10 suggestions

Building isn't hard. There's just more to pay attention to. Tang height are different among receivers, gas lengths vary with the different platforms. Parts aren't just interchangeable as they are with the AR15 platform. That being said, I actually enjoyed building my two AR10's (DPMS LR308...

JP Silent Capture Spring 6.5 Grendel

I'm not running a Gen 1 in my 20" Grendel. I have a Gen 2 and it's set in a standard configuration (weight, three stainless weights no tungsten). When I had a PRS on it, all that was needed is the spacer that's included to work with the rifle length buffer tube. I have an XLR stock on it now...

    Handguards

The JP rapid configuration handguards look interesting. Had I not gone with SLR, I would have been looking for one of those. The old version of the JP I had years and years ago was really nice. It was for an Armalite based AR10, I wish I would have finished that rifle off. Life and...

    JP Silent Capture Spring

Guess I was wrong, apologies. Rifle length stock tube I used the spacer that came with the Silent Captured Spring that makes it fill the tube.

Some work to do for this weekend, 6mm Creedmoor AR10

Faster than I expected as well. I need to get a friend's chrony. I want to verify those velocities. No oddballs. Ammo temps and velocities were pretty consistent. Only increases in velocities were slight and occurred with the last 5 rounds. Shot that string giving the chamber little time to...

    JP Silent Capture Spring

Don't know as I don't have any A2's, but the receiver extensions the same used on a PRS so I'm assuming it'd be good. You just have to use the spacer that comes with the SCS.

    Handguards

I have Seekins, SLR, LaRue and YHM. I've Troy, JP, RRA. The SLR and Seekins are on the rifles I shoot the most. SLR is the Solo and Intrepid and are both on my AR10's. The Seekins is SP3R V3 and is on my Grendel. It's a nice handguard. Flat bottom is nice and it's very modular. The YHM is...

Some work to do for this weekend, 6mm Creedmoor AR10

Got the velocities you inquired about. These were using Hornady Match ammo w/108g ELD. Atmospheric: 82.6° F 33.6% H 30.01 inHg (sea level) Wind calm Avg on 15 shots was 3096 fps. Barrel is new, total of 60 rounds through it. 22" Wilson Combat Match Super Sniper profile (I prefer heavier...

    Precision AR Barrel

I just leave them black with stainless barrels. A good finish would be nice, but I haven't got the nerve up yet to do it or get it done. My Grendel has the stainless coated in black, but not cerakote. It's not bad, but neither is bead blasted stainless. If I ever went to do the whole rifle...

    Precision AR Barrel

I've left mine stainless. Thought about Cerakote maybe at some point maybe for the whole rifle.

    Need help/advice/guidance on barrel selection.

Rcnut explained it pretty well. From what I've read and seen the venting/ bleed off is a small amount and cuts down just a little not much on the gas blow back. The bolt will unlock and move back at a certain pressure. The only thing being bled off is the excess that results from overgassing...

Looking at assembling a 6.5 CM Gas Gun...

Right back at ya I agree, Aero is fine and a good value. I was a little apprehensive when I purchased my first receiver set. When it came in I was pleasantly surprised. The fit and finish were nice and it went together with no issue. Been a great shooter. I was originally going to order a...

    Need help/advice/guidance on barrel selection.

My SLR blocks do get carbon buildup. The Superlative is supposed to be less, but I don't know if that's true as I've never used one. Right now mine are adjusted and left. Going with a suppressor requires some The superlative uses two holes that intersect. One for the adjustment screw and...

Some work to do for this weekend, 6mm Creedmoor AR10

I only put one box of Hornady Match 108 ELD-X through it. Unfortunately it was late in the day and pretty shady at the club I go to. I'll be taking it back out this weekend (maybe this week sometime) and I'll get some logging done. As soon as I have some, I'll post it up. Apologies, didn't...

Rcnut, how do you like the Superlative Arms gas block? Like the OP I've done some reading on it and it's interesting. Would like to hear your impressions and experiences. Thanks in advance.

    Need help/advice/guidance on barrel selection.

I was unsure if I'd end up liking the 6.5 Creedmoor when I built mine. That being the case I went with readily available barrels as my criteria before dropping the time on a custom cut barrel. I ended up going with an Ultramatch from Rainer on mine. It's been great so far. More accurate than...

    Lr-308 handgaurd

Naw man, there is just so much stuff it's like a kid in a candy store. It is for me anyway. I was just going nuts looking at suppressors. Haha. Let us know what you go with.

    Lr-308 handgaurd

I have SLR's on mine. If you can grab one from someone for the $100 off, that's a good deal and I believe you'd be happy with it. I like both the Solo and Intrepid I have.

Some work to do for this weekend, 6mm Creedmoor AR10

Had the rifle out today. Love it, it's a keeper. Trigger has to go, but that's an easy swap. Tuning the gas was quick and easy. Probably from the experience I gained tinkering with my 6.5 Creedmoor. After running them all today, I'm going to go nuts waiting for the can for them.

Looking at assembling a 6.5 CM Gas Gun...

My 6.5 Creedmoor is built on an Aero receiver set. I really like that rifle. If you want to build, go for it. Accurate and nice shooting. Adjustable gas and heavy buffer. I have an SLR gas block on mine and a JP Silent Capture Spring. A standard weight AR10 rifle buffer worked as well. The...
