    Lithgow Arms LA101

I believe the triggers are fully adjustable and set from the factory at 2.5lbs? Was this one used? If so, perhaps the original owner adjusted it heavy for some reason? I’m thinking about ordering one.

Which Rear Bag Would You Recommend (PRS)?

The large is just as easy to manipulate, it’s actually not much bigger, mostly just a little longer so I can turn the long side up if I need to extend the bipod legs. For most .22 matches you’re only allowed one bag so I like the added features of the pump pillow or gamechanger for a one bag...

    Lithgow Arms LA101

Anyone here have a Lithgow Arms model 101 in .22lr? I’ve heard great reviews on the internet but have yet to shoot one myself or speak to anyone who has. Looking for feedback. It seems very interesting.

    Procission rimfire

For a great dollar / quality value I really like the Primary Arms 4-14x 44 mil/mil dot. It comes in at around $230 and it’s a very nice scope for that price point. I use seekin rings , Area 419 rails, and this Primary Arms scope on all of my CZ455 student rifles that we use in our .22 rifle...

Which Rear Bag Would You Recommend (PRS)?

I think you’ll find that collecting bags is much like the rest of the equipment that we all have too much or too many of! You’ll end up with several bags in the end and you may find that your favorite bag today isn’t your favorite bag 3 months down the road. Currently my favorite carry in the...

    Drag bag/Shooting mat

I have a couple drag bag / mat combos and my favorite one by far is the one from Galati gear

Rifle Scopes Athlon Cronus 4.5x29x56mm vs SWFA HD 5x20x50mm

I have a gen II razor and a Cronus. The Cronus is a nice scope but not in the same league as my Gen II Razor by any means.

    Rifle Scopes Ring height?

Go with something extra high. Otherwise the 56mm objective will hit the hand guard on the RPR. I’ve got a Razor Gen II HD 4.5-27 x 56 on my RPR and it requires the tallest nightforce rings they make .

Rifle Scopes Mark 5 vs Cronus BTR

I have Cronus BTR, it’s a very nice scope but honestly I like the Vortex Razor Gen II HD much better. The Razor has better glass, and a much sturdier feel, beefier turret knobs , much sharper and more auditable clicks , zero stop, etc. I have many Leupold optics and they are nice but I prefer...

Any love for the 17 HMR?

I usually shoot them with a .220 swift, a 22-250, or a 6.5 creedmoor and I definitely agree very little lead remains in their body after being hit with any of those rounds. I’m sure the ones I shoot with my .22 do have lead in them but I’m not sure how much that harms the birds. I only mentioned...

    I agree.

Hunting & Fishing Prairie dog thread.

This was killed with a CZ 455 at a confirmed distance of 308 yards by a Leica 2700 range finder. I dialed up 14 Mils and held 4 Mils for the crazy New Mexico wind. The bullet barely penitrated the skin but most have broken his back.

Maggie’s Is There a Veterinarian In the House?

I have a few ponds full of huge I have several ponds full of huge unwanted turtles. Often times I find mine with the exact same symptoms you described. Here is a picture that I suspect is the cause of it!

Any love for the 17 HMR?

You mentioned your raptor feeding program. I’m curious if you use a lead free bullet when killing the squirrels for the raptors? I know they are easily affected by lead poisoning and wasn’t sure if you use a lead free projectile. I had never thought about it before but I was telling a friend...

Any love for the 17 HMR?

I have 3 very accurate .17 HMR’s and I love them. Out to 200 yards they are definitely more accurate than any .22LR. However, beyond about 250 yards a good .22 will outshoot any .17 HMR all day long. The reason of course is because most .17HMR goes transonic at around 250 yards, and that’s when...

    CZ 455

I have several cz 455s and mine are topped off with Primary Arms 4-14x 44mm FFP, I use Area 419 base with 30 MOA, and 30mm Seekins Precision rings. I find the factory trigger to be acceptable with a lighter spring installed and adjusted all the way out, and some stone work. Two of mine have...

Got the call from Vudoo today!

My V-22 ships tomorrow! Suddenly all of my CZ455 projects are on the back burner. I have a set of NF 34mm 6 hole rings waiting for the 30MOA base on the rifle. My scope options include NF 7-35 ATACR, Vortex Razor HD gen II 4.5-27, or Athlon Cronus 4-29. Can’t wait to get this rifle in and...

500 yards with my 22 rimfire at Rayners Range

Nicely written post. I enjoyed reading it. I recently got back from a prairie dog shooting adventure in New Mexico, then Wyoming , and then South Dakota. (I was traveling on business and allowed two days for shooting in each of those states) I shot many prairie dogs out to 225-250 yards with a...

    Focus on crosshairs or Target?

I know what you’re saying and theoretically, I agree with you. Maybe it’s just in my head as a result of forcing myself to focus on the sights for the past 25 years as a pistol shooter. When I shoot dot drills I tend to notice fewer flyers when I’m really focusing on the crosshairs. Again , it...
