    Muzzle brake for shorty .308?

Center Shot Rifles - Products / Sales - Muzzle Brakes these are great brakes that have very minimal blast back at the shooter compared to others that I have used. Designed by a competitive shooter that uses his product every day. There are several options to choose from to fit what your needs are.

    Alliants 223 load data off?

Not trying to derail this thread but I am just going off what my magnetospeed said and it was confirmed out to 600y. I only shot 15 of those rounds and don't plan on using that load any more because it doesn't pass my sanity check as I have the same thoughts as you on it. However there was only...

    Alliants 223 load data off?

Yes it is, but no major pressure signs just slight primer cratering, no ejector swipe or stiff bolt. I have only shot that load in <50* weather and I'm going to cool it off a little anyway, there is no need for me to push the 223 that hard all the time.

    Alliants 223 load data off?

Ok, well I can't speak for AR loads because my load for my bolt rifle 223 are loaded .110" longer than AR mags will allow with the same 77g bullet. However I can load quite a bit over the stated max load. I do believe that the pressure is very gradual to a point and then spikes fairly rapidly...

what bullet and brass are you using? also, is this a bolt gun or AR?

Do people actually use their slings when shooting precision rifle?

almost everyone utilizes a sling for shooting in unsupported positions (standing, kneeling, sitting and unsupported prone). It really locks the rifle up tight to your body and is much more stable than without it. I don't see any reason for using one while shooting prone off a bipod. Also at our...

    Suggestions for 6.5 CM Loads

Mine is very close to that, 42.8 H4350, fed 210M, 2.200" BTO jumping about .035" 2830fps in the cold (i havent tested above 70* yet) 26" barrel

    Help with chamber length.

I believe you are getting two things confused here. The "jump" has nothing to do with your brass length. As long as your brass is trimmed to a short enough length that it doesn't get pinched by the lands you are fine (less than 2.040) trimming them to 2.005 just will allow you to fire them quite...

    Decisions, Decisions.

243 will take down any white tail I have ever come across, so no reason to not hunt deer with it. If I were on a budget for a great shooting factory rifle I would head strait for a Savage 12 LRP, personally I would get it in 6.5 creedmoor (it also comes in 243 if you are dead set on that) and...

SPR- Build help me pick caliber.

6.5 Creedmoor gets my vote. I hit a 1300 yard target in a competition last weekend 3/5 times with a 25-30mph cross wind. 12.6mils elevation and 6-7 mils of windage. It sounds like a lot until you compare it to the .308. Mine has a muscle brake on it and it has the recoil of a 223 and much...

    6.5 creed ??

I'm using H4350, Berger 140 hybrids, Fed 210M primers in Hornady brass. 42.8g of H4350 is getting me 2860 fps out of my 26" surgeon and is a hammer!

My dilemma on my next rifle

If it were me, I would sell the SPR (even though I HATE selling guns) and buy the new AI AT. Have a 308 and 6.5 Creedmoor barrel and top it with that new Vortex Razor and not look back. The ease of changing barrels on the AT is just very handy and with those two calibers you can do most anything...

    Good set of shooting sticks???

    (2) 5/8 wooden dowel rods cut to your desired length with a 1.5" piece of 1"id rubber tubing. Slide the tubing up and down to adjust height very quickly and only costs ~$5. Always carry an extra piece of tubing with you in case you split the one you are using, but that doesn't happen much...

    What ammo would you suggest?

    need a new chronograph

What contour barrel did you see that dramatic shift from? On my M24 contour 308 and medium Palma 223 the shift if any is not measurable and groups the same off or on. I do all load development with it on and then confirm zero with it off and it works great. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
