    PPR vs. Full Custom

I think the only thing you get by going custom would be choice in components. I wouldn't go custom to build the same rifle GAP is offering at a very competitive price. If you want a different stock or action etc then custom makes sense. Performance-wise I would expect them to perform similarly.

New Build- Bighorn TL3 or Nucleus

Haven't run a nucleus, but very happy with my two Big Horn/Zermatt Origins. Customer service is great and so is the action. Stripping the bolt is easy and they shoot flat out.

    Trying to find primers.

If you're near a Sportsman's warehouse, they still have most non-match stuff on sale for $23.90/1k. You have to check the website often but they pop up for ship to store now and again, 1k limit. I've seen CCI 500 there a few times in the past weeks. Didn't buy any since I have enough for a...

    BigHorn Origin Ejection Issue

I haven't had any problems with ejection on mine (and I like the ejection port shape). Mine is a BDL type setup in 6.5 PRC, so I will mirror above and suggest you continue to adjust the feedlips. Case diameter on the PRC is a little smaller than the WSM the mags are made for, so some adjustment...

    Howa 1500 or Ruger Predator

Every howa I've ever felt at a store felt smooth and well timed. I wouldn't worry about bolt lift and would place it above the Ruger.

First timer questions- Remington 700 30-06

30-06 may not be the new hotness, but the classics never go out of style. I'd get a pic rail, new rings and scope and run with that. If you find yourself enjoying that, maybe take up reloading or something. But I wouldn't sell the gun and I wouldn't dump a ton of money into it to make a custom...

Suppressors Pre-SHOT Show .30 Cal First Can Suggestions?

Not on your list, but I was in your position last year and picked up a rugged razor for around $619. I wouldn't trust my ears to shoot any of the calibers you listed much without ear pro, so some of the DB chasing comes down to splitting hairs. My can takes the blast off and accuracy is same as...

    Why does KRG hate me?

Signing up for the USPS and UPS free accounts has made things a lot easier. Holds, incoming package notification texts, etc. It's worth the 15 minutes to sign up.

    6.5 PRC Growing Industry Support?

I think it's important to remember that the average hunter or shooter isn't on snipers hide or LRH. Industry support does appear to be growing for the 6.5 PRC. Time will tell if it remains an off the shelf option of if it falls away to a handloader specialty round. I'm happy with mine and with...

Anybody regret building a 6.5 PRC off a short action?

Nope. Bolt stop is in the perfect place for the extended mag. Wonder if it's just in the same spot on all their actions. Ejection of loaded roads etc hasn't been a problem. If you're going long action, I'd just go with a different caliber. I love my PRC, but with a long action it has a lot of...

Anybody regret building a 6.5 PRC off a short action?

I had a local smith open it up. Not a major operation. If you wanted to put the extended box on any factory action it would need to be milled.

    6.5PRC vs 300PRC deciding factors??

No issues with the Hornady brass in the 6.5 PRC for me. I certainly wouldn't walk away from the 300 PRC based on brass, and as above it only seems to be gaining traction.

    6.5PRC vs 300PRC deciding factors??

I love my 6.5 PRC, but it's a short action setup for hunting. As above, I'd go 300 with a long action for ELR shooting and make it just about as heavy as possible. Figure the 6.5 PRC adds 150-200 yards to the 6.5 creedmoor performance depending on the load. What you're talking about seems like...

Anybody regret building a 6.5 PRC off a short action?

With the Wyatt's extended box, his PRC follower, and factory feed rails, mine feeds very smooth. I've had to tweak the spring for the follower some because when you load 3 down the first road wasn't always fully presenting itself to the bolt. I'm sure from mags the PRC would feed very well.

Anybody regret building a 6.5 PRC off a short action?

I'm happy with my big horn origin cut for the Wyatt's box in 6.5 PRC. Very accurate and plenty of room to load out on my build. Plus some hunting bullets prefer some jump anyway. If I was going to get a long action (LA origin wasn't available when I ordered) I would've just got 280AI. The whole...

    Magnum hunting rifle dilemma

Rebarrel might be cheaper than starting fresh. Also, as above the stock fit and material has made a big difference for me in the past. I'd try some different models for feel/fit. New stock and a rebarrel and you may find yourself around the price of a new Tikka but with a custom gun setup how...

    Picking a New Action

Very happy with my two origins. I went with Savage prefits which were reasonably priced and easy to install. Let me know if you have any questions

Rifle for the wife unit Seekins or Bergara

Cabela's was stocking the seekins for a while. I don't see it on the website anymore but my local store still has a few (Colorado). If you have one semi local, might be worth the drive.

Rifle for the wife unit Seekins or Bergara

The seekins seem like an excellent value. I take internal mag when an option for weight, but with their carbon fiber magazine I think that's a moot point. Easier to teach someone how to quickly load or unload with the DBM too. I also prefer the seekins stock (carbon fiber vs the fiberglass...

    Origin vs tl3

Big Horn still offers support for their earlier actions too. If you need parts for a TL2 they just ask you to email them what you need.
