    General Reloading Process?

Thanks for your responses guys! I bought some stuff over the last week. Not all of it, but just enough to get started. I bought a simple Lee hand press and universal decapping die and shell holders and decapped a couple hundred spent Hornady cases while watching a movie on TV. I chucked a flat...

    General Reloading Process?

That's my plan, to buy just a few things at a time and see what works. I'm definitely going to go for a dedicated depriming press or hand tool after watching how fast and dirty it gets on that video. Thanks! I am not too concerned about the toxic dust issue because I will be tumbling in a...

    General Reloading Process?

I'm trying to work out the absolute best process to turn range-found brass into the best quality ammunition it can be, write up a little manual for myself and then work back from there eliminating steps as needs dictate, rather than muddling my way through it and missing something important. I...

    General Reloading Process?

Alright, so I read A TON and this is what I came up with for a more detailed 'complete process', with a dry tumbler. 1. (Optional) Wash packed dirt out of old range brass, if necessary. Dry on nail board, oven etc... PRIMER POCKET PREP: 2. Decap spent primers from uncleaned brass in press...

    Precision Reloading Setup From Scratch.

OP I'm in the same boat as you and made a similar thread but for 6.5 Creedmoor for semi-automatic.

    JP low mass BCG

Thanks! Hopefully I'll be able to get out and tune the gas block again and see how it shoots.

    General Reloading Process?

I haven't had the chance to pop any primers and look at the pockets yet. Just trying to establish 'the process' in general so I can make a few purchases and get started. Good to know that I need to full length resize and to use some wax.

    JP low mass BCG

Okay I just put the medium 'blue' spring in the heavy SCS and put steel weights on the VMOS BCG. The VMOS BCG at it's heaviest with two tungsten weights weighs 16.2oz, and 12oz without any weights at all. My scale died before I could weigh the BCG it with the steel weights, I would imagine...

    General Reloading Process?

Good to know I'm on the right track, and thanks for the sorting tip! I have a couple hundred once-fired Hornady cases of my own that I'd start out with so some of those steps might not be necessary, but I wanted to get a general idea of the process so I can start budgeting for equipment.

    JP low mass BCG

I’m gonna try this with my VMOS BCG with steel rings instead of tungsten. What does the LMOS weigh?

    General Reloading Process?

So I've watched a lot of videos and read a lot about how the reloading process works and just trying to put it all together because I might want to start reloading 6.5 Creedmoor for use in semi-automatic, and reload as precise as that will allow. Here's the basic process I've come up with that...

    6.5 Creedmoor build

I built mine with adjustable gas block and heavy BCG/SCS components and a TB CB brake to eventually screw on an Ultra 7 or 9 can. While I wait for that, I think I'm going to start playing around with the weights and springs to see what works best unsuppressed. I have tried the heaviest and the...

What are you guys running for ammo in 6.5 Creedmoor gas guns?

I'm using the High Pressure EnhancedBolt, I checked the clearance from the rail to the gas block tonight to see if something got knocked out of whack on the way to the range and back and it was all good. I played around with the lightest setting (four steel weights + light spring) to see if it...

What are you guys running for ammo in 6.5 Creedmoor gas guns?

I got a chance to fix some things tonight and put a box of Hornady 147gr ELD Match through it. (All I have left for now.) 1. I moved the scope about a half inch closer so that my cheek can rest better on the MagPul PRS3 comb. I have a thin face so not much to plump on there. I fine-tuned that...

What are you guys running for ammo in 6.5 Creedmoor gas guns?

I'm going to see how it shoots after the copper cleaning. I built the gun, Aero Precision M5 upper/lower, LPK etc... Buffer is the JP SCS heavy, BCG is the JP VMOS heavy + JP EnhancedBolt. JP .875 adjustable gas block, tuned for last round bolt hold back and a bit more, throws brass...

What are you guys running for ammo in 6.5 Creedmoor gas guns?

He was stacking rounds through the same holes on 1" target dots at 100y with his Ruger Precision Rifle, and when we traded rifles our groups were pretty much the same. Just trying to rule out the 'maybe it's me' theory...

What are you guys running for ammo in 6.5 Creedmoor gas guns?

I'm not the greatest shot, but when my first shot goes 1" left and the second shot goes 1" right, and the third hits dead center, and all 3 times my crosshairs covered both the vertical and horizontal markings on the target and my cheek and eye never moved... something's up.

What are you guys running for ammo in 6.5 Creedmoor gas guns?

Not yet, pretty much Winchester, Remington and most of the Hornady offerings. I have not tried Norma, Berger or Sierra. I'm thinking maybe hand loads but I don't have the equipment yet.

What are you guys running for ammo in 6.5 Creedmoor gas guns?

I have a 6.5 Creedmoor large frame AR with a Proof Research 22" barrel, and all moving parts are JP internals. Thunder Beast CB .308 brake. Mine has about 120 rounds through it and I followed the shoot one / clean one break in for the first 30 rounds. (MPro7 Bore Gel) I have tried a whole bunch...

    Matched bolt and barrel.......Important?

Most places will sell a properly headspaced bolt to go with their barrels. I'm pretty sure they just pluck a barrel out of their pile and then start picking random bolts and stop when they find a combination that fits good enough. Probably use a gauge compliant with SAAMI specs etc... It's...
