New Contest Starting Now! This Target Haunts Me
Tell us about the one that got away, the flier that ruined your group, the zero that drifted, the shot you still see when you close your eyes. Winner will receive a free scope!
People telling that you "NEED" certain things is extremely dumb. I always tell people buy what you can afford right now and learn the game. When I got into this sport I bought what I could afford/ find at the time, "I'm a lefty" so back in 2019 it was hard to find left hand components. Almost...
Same here. I wish I lived closer to rifles only. I'd love to shoot the brawl match. I don't know if Jacob still implements it but I don't like the rule of mag must be out to move positions. I get the saftey aspect of it but from a practical sense I don't like. But I haven't shot the match so my...
So enlighten me since I'm probably alot younger than most of you and didn't get the experience of the OG days and the OG matches. What was the average target size back then? Say from 2007 to 2015? Another question I have is what percant did the winner typically shoot back then.
I spat out random numbers as an example not exacts. Idc what the target size range is in size. Just throwing out an idea and an example. I apologize I don't translate examples very clear.
Your not wrong. I just see it from the perspective of you have one group who gets pissy when they see a meatball match and they didn't shoot that match. Then another group who gets pissy when the match was too difficult due to smaller targets. In my eyes it equals the playing field across the...
I get what your saying. I just threw out some random numbers. But you could give min/max size to use that way you have a range of sizes if you want to do like a TYL rack.
I know there have been some light discussion about this but how does everyone feel about having standardized targets for a certain yardge.
Example: targets must be approximately these sizes for this yardage range.
400-6"-10"
550-700-8"-12"
800-1000-12"-18"
You are doing the right thing. I've always had the opinion no matter how hard or easy you make a match your top shooters will always be successful. At the same time the match needs to be beneficial for newer shooters. Prime example for me was at this year's Okie Showdown at fouled bore. Watts...

I did learn something though looking at the rules a little closer regarding having classifications on the regional level.
Regional Series implementation will take place when each region hits a 400-500 shooter threshold. Rimfire Series implementation will take place when each region hits...
The shooter’s end-of-season total must be
comprised of three pro series match scores to be included in the class calculations.
2.11.10 Upon recalculation of shooter classes each season, if a shooter’s season score
is in a higher classification bracket, the member will be moved to that class. If...
Yes in order to get a classification you have to shoot in the pro series "2 day matches" and must have paid membership into the pro series.
I didn't realize I needed to be any clearer than I already have been. Most of this is pretty common knowledge if you just skim through the rule book.
Your right it does not say you need 3 matches to earn a classification. But being the series is based off an accumulation of a shooters 3 best matches 1 of which being a qualifier. One would assume your gonna need 3 match scores to get a classification.
I sure as hell can't afford it. I'm lucky if I get to shoot 2 pro matches next year. And I'm lucky, where I'm located I've got 3 pro matches within a 3 hr drive of me.
My point being that it's stupid a shooter has to shoot 3 pro matches just to get his/her classification at the end of the year. That's a shit ton of money just in match fees alone for a person.
It makes more sense to implement the classification on the regional level wether it be where you...
