New Contest Starting Now! This Target Haunts Me
Tell us about the one that got away, the flier that ruined your group, the zero that drifted, the shot you still see when you close your eyes. Winner will receive a free scope!
Crap. I am noticing that the steel is getting really tough to push through. I may pick up the .243 carbide mandrel. Unfortunately, the Sinclair mandrel cost $50 ea.
You have two choices to shoot matches there. Sin City Precision holds their match on the 1st Sat of the month at the Nellis AFB CATM range. You also have the Desert Sportsman Pistol & Rifle Club (DSRPC) match on the 3 Sat of the month.
DSRPC has targets out to 870 yds but I think they have a 1K...
Most people shoot off the Sloan exit off I-15 South. I think there are some maps of the location if you Google it. Also, if you have access to Nellis AFB, they have a rifle range there and we put targets out to 1035 yds.
I didn't see an increase coming to FL as NV has a higher density altitude. My Ballistic calc showed my 105 gr RDF going transonic at 1665 yds (5700' DA) in NV whereas in FL, it shows it going transonic at 1500 yds (2100' DA). I am also showing a .4 mil difference at 1K yds.
Yeah turn off "pressure is absolute" if you are not using station pressure (versus corrected barometric pressure, which is what it currently reflects in the picture).
I just came from Nevada (to Tampa) where I had my rifle dialed in at about 5K' DA. My zero did not change but my transonic...
Cool. Got to join you guys. I do have DOPE out to 1400 yds with my 6.5 and 1600 yds with my 6XC. I'm relatively new to the Southeast and most of my shooting was in the Southwest. So I wouldn't mind verifying data here in the Southeast. Hope to catch you guys in Dec.
I recently found out about Volusia but was unable to sign up for the practice/qualifier this month. Do you have to qualify there every month to shoot the local match? That is the closest LR match that I know of but it's 2:30 hrs away.
So I contacted the Manatee range and the 600 yd berm is open. The 1000 yd berm is undergoing renovations.
They also mentioned that you have to qualify to shoot the 600 yd targets. Anyone know what that's about and what it entails?
I have used always .262 G7 BC for the pointed 107 SMKs. Never had any issues. They line right up with my pointed Nosler 105 gr Custom Comps too. This is in 2 different 6XC builds running at 3062-3091 fps.
It was perfect timing, haha. Great meeting you and your family today. It was really nice to get out finally. I will definitely need to get back out. Have a few more rifles that I would like to check zero on and chrono them.
I got quite a bit done today in the 2 hrs I was there. Checked zero on...
