Re: FN TSR XP 300WSM Paul, The TSR-XP line all have the Hogue Overmolded stock. It has a full aluminum bedding block around the receiver. It extends forward into the forearm. The magazine in the .300 WSM will be a hinged floorplate design that holds three rounds. FNH does not currently...

    Authenticate M40A1

Re: Authenticate M40A1 kft101 tells it like it is. Also, how long is the barrel? That looks too long for an M-40A1.

    Stock for FNH TSR?

Re: Stock for FNH TSR? Anything inlet cut for the SPR or M-70 Short Action would work. Barrel channel may be too roomy for some tastes in SPR inlets as the TSR barrel is a bit thinner. The internal area around the trigger may need to be fit for the different trigger as well.

Jewell Trigger on FN SPR A3G????

Re: Jewell Trigger on FN SPR A3G???? PBRs have the same two-lever triggers. It is only the TSRs that have the MOA trigger.

ASC Fall 2012 NEW SHOOTERS MATCH

Re: ASC Fall 2012 NEW SHOOTERS MATCH All this talk of extreme weather and Brock's extreme beef tenderloin make me wish I was going even more. To all new shooters: there is no other match like ASC. Enjoy the adversity. It makes the match and you better in the long run. This is one match...

Any news on the FN SPR bottom metal...

Re: Any news on the FN SPR bottom metal... CDAT, How were the instructions? Thorough enough? Not enough info? Were the extra action screws needed? I shoot almost the identical SPR for my .308 Competition gun: SPR-A1 with Leupold ERT and M5 turrets. Even have the stock pack. And TBM...

    FN PBR in .300 WSM

Re: FN PBR in .300 WSM tdow, I don't think I can answer that question. I am a bit biased both ways. I have seen excellent rifles come out of both plants. I have also seen some not-so-great products get out of both plants as well. I think if anything has effected the FNH product quality...

    FN PBR in .300 WSM

Re: FN PBR in .300 WSM The PBR series was intended to be a budget minded rifle than the SPR. PBRs came with a 1.5 MOA guaranty where the SPR is 1 MOA. The WSM version of the PBR is actually a PBR-XP. It has the same claw extractor of the SPR and a one piece rail. The PBR-XP came with the...

Just found out my new FN A3G is messed up

Re: Just found out my new FN A3G is messed up Knobby, You really should send it back. Don't let finding a box to ship in hold you up from having the rifle you want. Give FNH Customer Service a chance to make it right. Sure, you may get a new rifle that shoots .400" in place of the rifle...

    Need a good FN gunsmith

Re: Need a good FN gunsmith For the work you need done, Mark Gordon is as good as they get. He may be able to help you with the bottom metal situation as well. Custom Blue and Cresent Customs also do excellent work on SPRs.

Want to build a precision rifle need help.

Re: Want to build a precision rifle need help. SDHog, If you are building an M-40A3/5 type rifle for sentimental or other training reasons, I'd recommend staying with the .308 Winchester for your first build. Good ammo is everywhere, you are familiar with the trajectory of the cartridge, it...

What camo did McMillan put on those M40A1's?

Re: What camo did McMillan put on those M40A1's? Dick, I actually prefered the smeared stocks to the later version. Not for any other reason than it was what my platoon had most of when I got there (2/7). Nostalgia, I guess. Usually they all got painted anyway. Thanks for the info...

Any news on the FN SPR bottom metal...

Re: Any news on the FN SPR bottom metal... If you have a bedded in DBM bottom metal, it will likley need to be rebedded, as bedding will be pretty tight to the specific piece. It is designed to drop into the factory DBM inlet and bedding. If it is a bedded in floorplate, it will need to be...

A Quick Question in re new Winchester short action

Re: A Quick Question in re new Winchester short action Investment casting is just a rumor. Receivers are still made the same way for the Winchester brand as well as the FNH line: forged and then finish machined from that forging. USRAC receivers on both FNH and Winchesters have the...
