    Headspace is not brass body

Lots of good info above; one thing I'd like to add: don't try to size a case (or cases) repeatedly. The results will be, at best, misleading. Partially sized cases don't respond the same as fired, unsized cases and will skew your measurements. Take a fired, cleaned, lubed case, size it and...

    D.O.P.E change with electronic target?

When it comes to F-class, Oz kinda does it's own thing. F-Standard, X/V's count as six points, etc. They more than hold their own on the world stage though, gotta give them that.

    D.O.P.E change with electronic target?

We routinely offset the 'center' of our club e-targets by 900mm in the vertical axis, or roughly 1.5 moa @ 600yds. At most halfway serious mid-range F-class matches, the X/10 ring would be a ragged hole with no center left to aim at within one relay, maybe two max (if it's windy). At 300yds...

Ace barrels vs the rest bartlein brux ect...

Yup. Had one Krieger where the throat moved a gawd-awful amount (20-40 thou) every few hundred rounds - in a 308, of all things. Never had that problem before or since 🤷🏼‍♂️ Most barrels are pretty good any more, but sometimes you end up with one from either end of the bell curve.

Dillon 550 sizing and seating on Rifle

Long ago, before the whole 'two tool head' thing caught on, I seem to recall David Tubb using one tool head on a 550 for his match ammo. IIRC, the 'trick' was that he alternated inserting cases, so as to spread the load out across the tool head. Bear in mind, this was before using expander...

Dillon 550 only- Tips, Tricks, Process Q&A thread .

Every time I take the shell plate off and flip it over, I'm amazed at how much gunk builds up in those recesses. Seems like the same gunk would be building up in the nooks and crannies of 'regular' shell holders on single stage presses, but it never seems to rear it's ugly head on those 🤷‍♂️

Aero Solus 4th of July Sale

It was well into this year, actually. Finally got my order (from before Thanksgiving) canceled around the end of February. And that was going through the CC company, because Aero sure as shit wasn't answering the fucking phone. They might have turned the corner, maybe, maybe not. We'll see...

    Cleaning for Carbon

Not sure which thread it was in, but someone mentioned cleaning til the carbon was gone, vs cleaning til all the carbon *staining* was gone. I'll admit, that was a face-palm moment for me. Probably been cleaning way more than I needed to, to get those last black streaks out.

Aero Solus 4th of July Sale

...and you might get it by Christmas. Maybe. Parts, wtf knows. Figured most people had learned the hard way to buy Aero from a dealer/third party, rather than engage directly with those shady f$cks.

    Bushing or mandrel or both?

Most F-class shooters are *very* happy if they can consistently hit a 1 moa target in the wind at distance... as that's the size of the 10-ring. A 200 with a low X count trumps a 199 with a high X count, every time 👍

Rifle Competition Events Cleaning for Competitions

I used to use those a bunch for 30 cal. Kinda lost interest in them due to the smaller calibers only having enough thread for one pellet. The 30 cal holds two (and a half) pretty easily. I seem to recall finding a newer jag for the smaller calibers that held at least two pellets, but I don't...

6gt ARC CDG and light primer strikes

As with most things... "it depends". The plain old Forster F/L sizing die (no bushings) actually works surprisingly well. The expander is located differently on the decapping stem than on other brands, so (in theory) the case is a little better supported when the expander is pulled back...

6gt ARC CDG and light primer strikes

So... if you were buying these for actual neck turning, you generally want to expand the case necks on virgin brass, and then use a mandrel that is 0.001" smaller as a pilot in the neck turner itself. For .308 Win, that would look like a 0.307 expander in the die, and a 0.306 expander as the...

Rifle Scopes DNT 7-35x56 FFP Riflescopes

That's kinda what I was hoping for... I like the overall format of say, a Bushnell DMR/DMRII, especially the lo-pro turrets, 50mm objective, etc. I'd prefer something closer to the 4.5/5 to 25/27/30x range, but I wouldn't turn my nose up at something with less magnification.

Rifle Scopes DNT 7-35x56 FFP Riflescopes

Well, since you have such an 'in'... any insight on my question about something in the range of a Viper PST II 5-25X being in the works?

Rifle Scopes DNT 7-35x56 FFP Riflescopes

It's a DNT thread, so I really wasn't asking about other brands 🤷🏼‍♂️

Rifle Scopes DNT 7-35x56 FFP Riflescopes

Thought I heard some rumors that they were going to come out with something similar in the 5-25x range... anyone know more about that?

6gt ARC CDG and light primer strikes

^ this I have gotten the full-meal-deal set of expanders from 21st Century for a couple calibers (.224 and .30), because I have a lot of different guns, running different brass, with different applications and different requirements, in those particular calibers - plus I had some OT money...

Varget in 6mm GT (sorry so fabulous i forgot to add which 6)

Same here. To be fair, when I got kind of a bad taste for Varget, we were running 155.5's @ 3k and 3-400 rds btwn cleanings. N150 was *way* easier to get out. Nowadays, it's usually just "clean at the end of the day", whether that's 60 rds or 100. Might stretch it out to 150± for a local...

Varget in 6mm GT (sorry so fabulous i forgot to add which 6)

I always felt Varget fouled more than it should, in a 308. Then when Varget started becoming unobtainium every time there was a gun related news headline starting in the mid 2000s, I moved to using more and more N140 and N150. After that, I *really* felt Varget was a nasty fouling pig of a...
