    Rifle Scopes Vortex optic dilemma...

Option 3. The 3-18 will do everything you need on a PRS rig. I RARELY shoot over 18x and if I do its a prone stage just because I can get away with the extra zoom. Like someone said above, the only reason for the "upgrade" to the 4.5-27 is because you want the extra available mag range, but its...

I use mine on my 308 barrel and my 6Dasher barrel. .1mil POI shift. Zero affect to group size or load development. Repeatable on/off zero (so much so that I forget that there is even an issue with this when people are talking about other cans) Great sound. I know they dont "test" well on dB...

Rifle Scopes My Schmidt & Bender needs repairs

I had one 3 years ago with a few spots. Sent it in, they paid shipping both ways, even did some "repairs" that the tech thought it needed (he thought the parallax knob was too stiff) and had it back to me the following week. Didnt cost me a dime short of dropping it off at UPS.

    Vintage Sniper Rifle Picture Thread

I haven’t. But I did notice that the metal is SUPER soft when I was drilling and tapping. I used sleeve retainer on my threads because the hardware was so short and coarse threaded I figured there was no way they wouldnt come loose. If I were to do it again, I would probably use a bigger fine...

    Vintage Sniper Rifle Picture Thread

Sort of a bastard vintage "sniper rifle" 1926 Mosin I picked up for $100 a buddy had laying around in his garage. Was in really good condition (for a mosin) and I've loved the looks of them since seeing Enemy At The Gates. Its all numbers matching, if that means shit for a mosin, so I sent the...

Gunsmithing Scope level to a rifle

I use the badger dead level and a plumb bob. Level with the cant of the base, level with gravity. I check/compare the bubble level built into in the Badger base with a Starret bubble level. Shine a flashlight through the objective of the scope, project the reticle onto the wall right by the...

    Gunsmithing Barrel cleaning

I clean mine with a few patches of carbon remover after every outing (I shoot suppressed) Copper, I might throw a few patches at with Sweets 762 or KG every few hundred rounds but never really strip it and get it 10000% clean.
