New Contest Starting Now! This Target Haunts Me
Tell us about the one that got away, the flier that ruined your group, the zero that drifted, the shot you still see when you close your eyes. Winner will receive a free scope!
I like having a pump 12ga under my truck's back seat with a shell belt with 50/50 slug and control flight OObuck.
I can hit a full-size humanoid target at 100yds from a rested position with slugs.
I figure if the threat is still serious and is beyond 100yds.....I'm proper fucked anyway...
I am not going to argue against "the factory remington 700 is God's gift to accurate shooting past, present, and future".
Seems like this was hashed out decades ago.
Have a nice day.

Not to beat a dead horse.....that we have all taken a swing at over the years.
If you are basing customer satisfaction on .75 moa......(3/4" @100yd and holding that moa beyond 100yds)......that is your first mistake. I've had customers complain their rifle doesn't shoot .25moa with ALL AMMO...
Actually, it would be like installing a new tire on a bent wheel and risking the customer coming back because of a shake and blaming your tire install. Then risking the angry customer not accepting the wheel is bent and motherfucking you and your work on the internet for all to see.
This game...
As always, thanks for the recommendation.
Let the smith know your intentions after the action is trued. Some smiths cut the tenon threads oversized or to a different thread altogether......eliminating the possibility to run remage (1.062-16tpi) barrels.

Haha....thats true. I don't play the clone game.
Don't get me wrong the PSA is not a top shelf ar10 by any means.....but it seems like a good base. The peripherols are cheesy and will be replaced after load work up for sure. Even with those upgrades.....I will have less than $1k in it. You...
Kinda related to your thinking. I wanted a reece type large flatform AR in 6.5creed, but not sold on the idea and didn't want to drop major coin on a bundle of cool guy parts.
So I ordered up a PSA 20" 6.5creed rifle-length collapsible stock model. Cut it back to 18" threw on a APA gen2 LB. Did...
Indeed. Too much variability in components/methods to come to a concrete one-size-fits-all conclusion.
There probably is some merit for certain methods.......this would explain why FGMM 168bthp can be shot out of a 16" ar10 or 26" bolt gun and achieve great accuracy.......not to mention all of...
I can't speak to OBT or theory, but one thing I have noticed based on actual results. The straighter the bore and more even the barrel wall (i.e. referenced to bore center) the wider the "node" and more forgiving it will be. In my layman's terms, the better the barrel characteristics mentioned...
Don't get too hung up on it. Some people spend BIG money to imagine what others stood on footprints for.
Does the collector have pants on when he is admiring his 100 scopes?......haha.

That's a bummer. You may have indeed been "Proofed". Best case is you have a super finicky barrel that you will need to source a particular factory load for and hope it doesn't change.....or do a custom load work up.
Also, if it doesn't shoot FGMM with 130berger AR hybrids.....it is for sure...
Something has definitely changed. About a month ago I had a Proof carbon blank that had a big slug of epoxy (from the carbon wrap) in the bore at the breech end. Funny thing was the epoxy slug had been 60degree chamfered.....so it was there before turning/grinding to contour.
Proof must have...
This is precisely why I have a bundle of used Proof Carbons sitting in the corner. They didn't shoot with typical factory offerings or typical reloads. So it was easier to just rebarrel and send back out. Proof has been great about replacing them.....didn't even want the old barrels back for...
