New Contest Starting Now! This Target Haunts Me
Tell us about the one that got away, the flier that ruined your group, the zero that drifted, the shot you still see when you close your eyes. Winner will receive a free scope!
With the bolt removed I scribed the inside of the stock with a dental pick. Then removed the action and grabbed my small files and went to work. Carbon fiber is very easy to remove so don’t get carried away.
I opened mine up to fit. TL3 left bolt right eject. Manners with the mini chasis. I think it came out good considering it’s a left handed stock that had no cutout for the port at all.
I’ve spent plenty of time on the phone and e-mail with manners. Nothing but great customer service.
Is it possible the gunsmith is the weak link? Did he order the stock or did you? Is there an outstanding bill floating around somewhere?
7-08 with 162-168g bullets will do what you want.
People talk about these magnums and shooting target. I guess I’m just a puss, I don’t want to put a 100 rounds down range in a day behind a magnum.
Measuring brass thickness and doing the math works, but it’s much easier to just measure the loaded round and subtract .002” and cal it a day.
If you get ready to order and the ER11-5/16 collet for the 30-06 is still out of stock I’ve found a supplier for them. They’ve been out of stock over...
I would spend the money on the tools up front. You’re overlooking one of the great things about an action that can take prefits. Two barrels. Hell ten barrels.
Maybe a heavy target barrel and a sporter 338 Fedral or something else for heavy hunting.
22-250 to 358 Winchester. Game on if...
I’ve only used Manners and have nothing but great things to say about them. I know many people who have went to AG composites and are very happy with their product.
Shortening your barrel 2” but going to a smaller bore will not return much weight savings. Now changing calibers because you...
The old adage, “ a 9mm might expand but a 45 will never contract” applies here.
I mean really a 9mm at .355 might expand 50% but it will never compare to a .452 or .458 hardcast at the same speed.
My point is, if you’re buying a barrel never download a cartridge to obtain subs. Twist it and shoot the heaviest bullet you can.
You want a 300 BO at 220g or a 450 at 5-600g. Same speed.
I guess I’m overlooking the obvious but why is a 45-70 or 450Marlin with a 500+ grain bullet not on your list. High bc bullets are a joke at sub speeds. You want tonnage. All Tikka rifles are long action and a 300 WSM action will feed a 450 Marlin. Twist it tight and add bullet weight until...
