    Rifle Scopes SWFA 20x42 SS question

    I have no issues with my 20x for shooting steel or whatever. Not as bright as some of my other optics that cost 5-10x what the swfa does. I would not be concerned if it were me.

    Best d.i.y. option for brass annealing.

    I use an electric drill and a deep socket. Socket size depends on case size. Set torch on a table. Case in socket and slowly spin with the drill. Fastest method no, but it is pretty fast and free. The pic is just for reference, I don’t lay the torch on the bench like that.

    Without changing the bolt face from the win mag is the 300 rum the direction to go for a 30 cal bullet or is there another option out there.

    Defensive edge has a +p reamer they use and get close to another 100fps out of it I believe. 3100 FPS with a 215g Berger sounds pretty sweet to me.

    Gunsmithing Chamber issue caused while shooting today (pic)

    Those marks are from a round that I carefully slide into the chamber by finger then slide the bolt forward and closed it.

    Have not checked the nut hand guard is. Rounds chamber now after the cleaning so I don’t think it is going to be loose/ head space issue, but I will check it out.

    They look fine/ normal. Thinking a small piece of debris of some sort got in there possibly not letting the rounds seat all the way into the chamber. Not sure about the scratches. Ruger precision rifle.

    None of the brass shot before the ammo quit chambering have marks like this on them.
