New Contest Starting Now! This Target Haunts Me
Tell us about the one that got away, the flier that ruined your group, the zero that drifted, the shot you still see when you close your eyes. Winner will receive a free scope!
Thanks for your thoughts on the recoil pad. I just picked mine up from the Amazon box last night. It came a day early, thanks Amazon.
I do have to say Geissele does know how to make a trigger. I think their the best on the market. I have them in most of my ARs. Just wish that their customer...
What exactly do you think has changed? I think the only thing that's changed when I built my first AR back in the late 90s early 2000s is handguards and the advent of drop in triggers and for those two things you should follow the manufacturers instruction instructions or some generic video
And btw, with proper recoil management techniques you'll have a flat shooting rifle without things like adjustable gas blocks and buffer springs and brakes. It just takes practice of proper shooting techniques. ;)
I have the MK14 rail and the Superlative Arms gas block. It does fit but it's tighter than I would like. The issue isn't the portion of the gas block that goes around the barrel, there is plenty of room for that and the ID of the MK14 is 1.27". Where it is tight is in the top portion of the...
UH, straight from Ballistic Advantage :ROFLMAO::LOL::ROFLMAO:
Just order the Superlative Arms gas block at the same time as the barrel. But if you use a set screw gas block you'll have to dimple the barrel yourself.
I heard Cheaper than Dirt jacked their prices up even higher than that but I haven't looked at website in years. Just refuse to shop with them out of principle. Might have to add Palmetto State Armory to that list as well. I understand a small price increase but double is pushing it to me.
If you're looking to get a better buffer and spring then either one will work fine and it's up to you. If not then just wait and see how your current one works for you.
If you buy the BA Hanson 11.3 barrel I would buy the Superlative Arms gas block at the same time. You're barrel won't have...
It depends on his system. The 12.3" barrel I have has a smaller gas port than normal so the H1 in mine works fine. It will just depend on how his system works once he adds the suppressor. Even an adjustable gas block will not cure everything.
Take a look at YHM and DeadAir has. I love my DeadAir Sandman L but it's large in comparison to what you're at but I also run it on my 308. You can buy the suppressor at Silencer Shop and they'll ship it to your local FFL. It'll get there before the ATF proccesses the paperwork. It took 9 months...
Mine didn't but I bought an adjustable gas block from them at the same time. The downside was I had to dimple the barrel myself since it didn't come dimpled.
I don't think there is really anything you can do. The rifle is going to get a lot dirtier when running suppressed. It's just the nature of the beast. I'm not sure how long people run their rifles without cleaning but I wouldn't go 200 rounds without cleaning especially. You take care of your...
In regards to JP rifles. I'll bet you can get regular BCGs and full power springs in their rifles. They do sell those individually. I have one of their FMOS BCGs and I've never had an issue with the Silent Capture Spring. I do believe that they do sell regular full power springs as well. Their...
Get an adjustable gas block. I have a 12.3" BA Hanson profiled barrel with a Superlative Arms adjustable gas black with a Geissele Super 42 H1 Buffer and it works great with the DeadAir Sandman L suppressor.
I'd recommend either Superlative Arms and SLR Rifleworks. I own both and both are...
I can tell you that the Bartliens are definately not overpriced. But if you're looking at one of them then you're looking at a precision rifle over a more self defense oriented rifle. I just bought a Bartlien and a Ballistic Advantage barrel and I'll tell you right now there is a huge difference...
It'll be hard to go wrong with the JP. I have one of their 308 barrels and it's a shooter but I don't have the cooling fins so I can't comment on those. Personally I'd skip the fins since you're looking to build a precision rifle and not a blaster. You're probably not going to be doing mag dumps...
I used the Geissele SSA-E trigger and the Maritime Bolt Catch. They had such good deals on them during their black friday sale this year that I bought one for the pistol and the 18" I'm building. The pistol was originally meant to be a cheaper build but ended up spending more on it than I was...
