    I spent a lot of time comparing my G3s and S8. The S8 has a bit better center resolution and I like the higher magnification but overall the G3 is probably a bit better scope and ILya (DLO) confirms this. I'm happy with both though.

    No, it's just their regular barrel I got from them when they had one of their 20% off sales. That barrel was amazing. I'm on a second 6 BR barrel from them and it's not quite as accurate and won't shoot in the .0s as often. I have a third barrel on the shelf which I'm going to test out soon.

    Seems like the current thinking is that the optic doesn't have to be very close to the barrel and it's good to be able to keep your head more vertical behind the optic so I would think the 1.26. Gen 3 with 1.26 rings: BTW, you can get refurbished Vortex rings for $80...

    ILya has looked at this scope at least initially. He seems to like the turrets a lot but he still said that the Gen3 Razor is the one to beat and is the best bang for the buck in the sub $3K range in this scope category.
