New Contest Starting Now! This Target Haunts Me
Tell us about the one that got away, the flier that ruined your group, the zero that drifted, the shot you still see when you close your eyes. Winner will receive a free scope!
EGW HD 20MOA. Best part about the EGW HD is even though it is a 20moa, it is still low in the back. Even though it hangs over the front of the receiver, my Nightforce 3.5-15x50 does not touch it.
That philosophy is great, if you have an extra scope laying around. Otherwise you sit around with your thumb up your ass and not shooting, while you save your money for a scope.
Tikka = side bolt release, safe and adjustable trigger, sako extractor, 70 degree bolt lift, removable bolt handle. What does Remington bring to the table?
The Burris C4 is a great budget priced scope. Get one with a standard MOA turret. If you remove the rubber o-ring under the elevation turret it makes the turret crisp, not squishy.
A video on how to focus an optic. Sigh...just look at the sky and turn eyepiece until the reticle is crisp. For parallax, it changes all the time. Just turn the knob until the target is crisp. No different than focusing your binos. Move eye side to side to confirm the reticle doesn't wander.
I'd go standard 22-250 if I could do it over. Fire forming sucks and does nothing but waste barrel life, especially on a short lived barrel due to a hot rod round.
Keep the Nightforce. SFP are nice if you like to hunt. A FFP scope with no illumination will have a pretty faint reticle on low power in low light or timber.
Just make sure side to side gap is the same. As far as comparing the gaps between the front and rear rings, I have seen this several times where there is a larger gap on the rear ring compared to the fronts. Seen this several times with various rings and scope brands. Either the tube is larger...
This could be devated forever. Lets say you decide against the MOAR reticle, you can get this one for $1566. Nightforce NXS 5.5-22x56 NP-R2 C231
What if the MSRP of the new SHV is fairly accurate? You are in over $1300 for less features, yet same weight. I'd wait a couple more months and get...
That's my hang-up too. For a mere $300 more you can get a 5.5-22 NXS with the MOAR. Even less if you want a different reticle. And the NXS turrets go to 20MOA per revolution.
