    You cannot argue with GAP's reputation, and resale value. One thing that sucks about them is how hard it is to get ahold of anyone there. You care constantly playing phone tag.

    My 243's throat is about done. My next tube will be a 7.5 twist. With the right glass, any accurate gun can hit the 1000yd mark. Wind really is the devil, that is where the long skinny bullets come into play.

    Changing caliber question

    Ghengis, you can convert say a M700 in a 223 to a 308 etc. You would have to buy a new bolt or have yours machined. Don't forget a new mag box and follower too. If you are doing say 260 ---->308, then is it straight barrel swap.

    Scope seems high priced for no illumination. I think illumination should be standard in FFP scopes. FFP reticles quickly get lost on low power in dark backgrounds.

    Buy 200 pieces of brass from GAP, and if you load them moderately and anneal you will probably have enough for the life of the barrel. I bought the dies through GAP too, but I believe you could use a Redding bushing die in 6.5 Creed, and change out the bushings for the 6mm.

    Nightforce is still going strong, even after everyone here decided you had to have a FFP scope to hit anything. I suspect USO will be fine.

    $2000 and no REAL idea

    +1. Tikkas have a better barrel, better bolt, better extractor, better trigger, better bolt release and almost always shoot better. Upgrade the features on an M700 action just to match what comes standard with Tikka and you are probably past the price of just starting with a Stiller etc...
