New Contest Starting Now! This Target Haunts Me
Tell us about the one that got away, the flier that ruined your group, the zero that drifted, the shot you still see when you close your eyes. Winner will receive a free scope!
So...zero value added to any kind of cleaning in the pocket. Including when reloading for super accurate distance shooting? Who then came out with this fallacy in the first place...rhetorical question...Interesting discussion...
I am sure this theme has been debated many a times (if there is a link to a thread you know please gently guide me there). I am wondering if you guys can state the benefit resulted for cleaning the primer pocket. I have done much reading and I found many opposing philosophies. Even a few savvy...
Ok…soon I will have finished building my second Savage modular platform used as a barrel switch (or swap as others would say…!!!). I wrote this before; I love the ease of being able to change barrels and…voilá… you have a new rifle, plus the glamour and pride associated with building your own...
Common guys... I learned that there a number of this actions sold out there....someone is buying them...and if so what stocks you guys are putting them in...or what are you planning to put them on...
Does either HP Precision or Bell and Carlson make any stocks for the above mentioned action? I am sure some of you had to answer this question some time.
Just bought a Savage target action (RBLP single shot) and learned the new 'edition' is not 4.4 screw spacing any longer but back to 3.4.
Hope you guys can direct me to some sites where I can buy a stock for that platform. I will put a 308 Shilen barrel on it. Thank you.
I never said anything about factory barrels. All I said was that I would like the ability to easily switch barrels (and calibers) any time I so desire with out going through a smith (including not in the beginning for headspacing). What I learned thus far points towards the Savage platform...
All good points. Yes I want to rebarrel my own rifle but I am really after is another switch barrel rifle. In other words I want to create a platform I like (I.e. Stock-action-scope) and then change any time I want.
Can please anyone confirm that the Savage 12 VAR LP 308 DBM has top bolt release. And if anyone has that particular model, what stock stock fits well. Any pictures would be appreciated.
Tell me which would you chose from the following two rifles and why?
1) Savage 12 VAR LP 308 DBM or 2) Savage 12 BVSS 308 1/10" twist
I will probably shoot mostly steel and paper for up to 1k prone and from the bench. I want an accurate repeater, which will allow me to load easy a few...
Very nice looking rifle. Are there any other stocks you know would fit without any alterations? Also are you familiar with the RemAge barrel? I am looking at that option as well
I have the target Accutrigger on my 6 mm BR and simply love it. My contention with the non-target Accutrigger is regarding its ability to set it below 1 lbs. Mine is set right at 8 ounces and it delivers extremely well for me. Yeah...what is all that chatter about locking the trigger. Mine...
And while I am at it, what triggers are availbe out there to change the one existing on the 10FCPK and also is there ever an inerest for people in buying the factory stock if I take the rifle apart? Just trying to stay proactive here.
Is that first headspacing I am talking about. I want to do it all myself with out paying a smith to headspace it. Any direction on what companies do the barrel nut thing?
I just build my first rifle (savage Fclass 6 MM BR) and I love the modular concept of switching barrels with the twist of the wrench. With Remy I believe I need a smith or a reamer correct?
Dropped my fcpk into an XLR and it is a .5 MOA rifle.
How much for a stock like that. I looked at their site and it appears they sell so many diffrent options. Have a picture of your rig?
