Deciding on my ELR rifle build.

I don’t think he’s switching, the plan is to have both. Either a switch barrel rifle or one of each. The 375 Snipetac is a excellent round and a bunch in the area shoot very well, the 338 Snipetac has its own purpose and project as well. Geno can correct me if I am wrong Oneshot.onehit JH

    Adjustable bases?

I haven’t considered it a downside or hindrance, my cheek weld is set higher as well as my adjustable butt plate. Even the majority of the folks using the Charlie are still using a high scope base in order to see over the barrel at the muzzle and avoid some of the heat mirage for the majority...

    Recommeded ELR spotting scope

Theres a variety of good equipment available these days, we have been satisfied with the performance and quality of the Vortex Razor spotting scopes. We like to use one with the Mil retical and one without when two spotters are allowed behind the shooter while at events pushing us out to 3500...

    Coldbore

As long as I know all the imputes are correct for the bullet profile and the rifle the only thing I will true up or adjust is the BC number. If your getting a constant speed that is proven then tweaking the speed is only a short lived bandaid. Micro adjusting the BC number is common because you...

Best overall caliber for long range shooting

For an all around rifle? The short and sweet of it. From an average joe that has had plenty of trigger time behind the following, 223, 260, 338LM, 375, 416 and the 50 BMG. In which I hunt some but hammered a lot of steel from 300 yards all the way out to 3500 yards + The 223 a fun gun but...

New NRA ELR Nationals World Record

Theres a fair amount of folks shooting 416s in ELR Some 338LM and then mainly 375s, 416s, 460s and some 50s all seen in the ELR that are pushing way out there with limited rounds Oneshot

New NRA ELR Nationals World Record

20 mph at 3:00 40 Grain 22 round would probably match the same wind hold at 270 yards compared to a 338 LM using a 300 grain Scenar at 2000 yards. Just a close estimate without putting a lot of time in it. Oneshot

    20N29

Campfire???? Hey The nice part about 20n29 over H50 is more case fill ability when a person is struggling with a load and trying to achieve a fairly full case of powder. I tend to see a increase in speed and with less pressure over the H50. On my last configuration I have not shot it enough to...

Going from 2 to 3 miles and all the new issues!

Its good to see everything is working for you, hitting consistently with good averages at 2 miles is a challenge in its own. Good luck with the project and pushing the limits. Cheers Oneshot JH

    375 Snipetac Case Length

I would have to agree with ELR researcher I really like my Wilson trimmer for the big stuff, I have used it with the following 375 Snipe Tac, 375 VM2, 375 Warner and the 416 Warner —- it is simple and very easy to work with and consistent in demands towards percision and consistency.. Cheers...

Kasey Your 5H has been running on three different rifles now ranging from 24.9 to 41 lbs at the KO2M the last three years as well as other events. There are a few mods that could be done to improve the 5H but all in all they have treated us well. Pictured is one mods we made that spreads the...
