New Contest Starting Now! This Target Haunts Me
Tell us about the one that got away, the flier that ruined your group, the zero that drifted, the shot you still see when you close your eyes. Winner will receive a free scope!
Ok gang I just got back from my 9 day vacation to Kauai! It was great. 9 days without the kids. It was hard to return until I saw the kids.
Anyhow I was trying to do some load development and ran into ejection issues. No matter the charge I had to pound the bolt back to extract.
Chambering...
There is another thread here that flat out says the dies are WAY off. I can't wait to try new brass. Retumbo looked much more promising for me than h1000
I have not been able to test new brass yet in my 300 prc. I did reload 1x fired brass and had a sticky bolt every round. So now I wonder if it is a die issue! I was thinking brass. But I don't have any brass at the moment to test and I am in Hawaii
I loaded to factory ammo depth there abouts... 3.66"
H1000 and retumbo powder.
Cci 250 primers
225 eld pills
The issue I had with the brass was it is used so I had extraction issues. Basically after each shot I had to get up and pound the bolt. I'm waiting for my new brass to arrive...
Dane @DMR rifles out of Vegas spun up the barrel. It shot great. The brass sucks but I love it. No Muzzle velocity data yet. But here is some ocw data.
So I got to try out my 300 PRC. It's always a joy to shoot but I had a sticky bolt no matter the charge weight.
I loaded 1x fired brass from D. Tubbs that I bought. FL resized with the hornady match diet set.
225 eld pills
COL = 3.66"
Cci 250 primers
Top row is Retumbo bottom is H1000...
