Good question, Bogey. From reading the OP from Scout, I believe these barrels are designed to work with an unaltered Remington action, as is. I've had a few & presently contemplating another EDGE stock for a LW hunting rifle. If you're truly counting ounces, then EDGE fill will shave a few off a standard fill stock.
