    Think of it this way. The same pressure working on a larger surface area will do more 'work'. Consider an 8" hydraulic piston @ 1000psi. Then consider that same 1000 psi behind a 10" piston. Which one will be able to do more 'work', and 'work' more efficiently? That's why stepping up in bore...
