    MPOs now $699- a good budget choice ?

    I bought an MPO 5-25 and sent it back the same day. The reticle didn't bother me. But, worse glass than my 15 year old Bushnell 6x24, and all my SWFA HD scopes, all of which I like. I'm a mid-tier Made in Japan scope guy, but that MPO wasn't cutting it, even at objects at 100 yds on a sunny day.

    Good old Rem700 (preferably 5R) in 308. Ditch the trigger for a Timney. The barrel may outlast you, and same cannot be said about the other calibers. Mine are all half MOA. Oh, and get a 22LR bolt gun too, just because.

    I would like to try one for the SWFA 5-20 parallax knob, and if it works, I'll buy 3 more. 1.45" diameter, 0.25" wide. PS The power knob is tapered, not sure if a lever would stay put? It's about 1.65" diameter. Thanks.

    I have the Bushnell ET 3.5-21 with G3 reticle (Made in Japan), very simple tree. I also grabbed another SWFA 5-20 (Also Made in Japan NOT China), with a basic MIL reticle. At this price you could use it until you figure out exactly what you want down the road, and move the SWFA over to a 223...

    This is all I have handy, mostly 3 shot groups. I'll try and remember to take a pic of some 5 shot groups. Anyway: 5 shot clover leaf, but this doesn't count because it is a Spartan built REM700. 2 rounds left in the magazine, shot at 300 with the 20" 5R. 2 shots and 3 shots with scope...
