    Gunsmithing BRUX BARRELS

Went to Krieger and ordered a barrel from them. They will make what I want.

    MDT Oryx Chassis

How thick of a barrel will the chassis accept? Not sure if this is the correct terminology...Forward of the recoil lug, (shank) what barrel width will be OK. I'm looking at a straight taper Bartlein and it is 1.200 for the first 5"

Range Report 25 cal for comps

When I get my 25-284 built, if it only lasts 800 rounds and it shoots good...I couldn't be happier! Got some Blackjack bullets yesterday...They are nasty looking!! C'mon Bartlein.

    Gunsmithing BRUX BARRELS

Big favor. Would a member check my understanding of the Berger Twist Rate Calculator? According to what I think I found, the 131 Blackjack bullet is very stable from 200'-6000'+ at 3100fps to 3200fps with the following twists: 1.8-1.50 and 1.725. Trying to wrap my head around this before I...

    Gunsmithing BRUX BARRELS

They don't have any 7.5 twists in stock. Plus, they don't answer their phone or e-mails.

    Gunsmithing BRUX BARRELS

I have been looking, without success for .25 caliber barrels to shoot the new 131 gr. Blackjack bullet. I emailed Brux a couple of days ago and this morning I got a call from them asking why I wanted a 7.5 twist 257 barrel. I proceeded to tell them about Blackjack bullets. The guy said he would...

    22 creedmoor

I'm using a Wilson 6.5 Creedmoor seater with a 22-250 seater installed. For sizing I use a Redding 6 Creedmoor F L Type S bushing die. Works like a charm, no problems.

    22 creedmoor

My 22 Creedmoor shot the 80.5 Berger and the 80 Gr. Nosler CC the same with H-4350. I went with the Nosler because they are cheaper and suit my needs.

22 Creedmoor Whidden dies - current quality control?

All my 22 Creedmoor brass was once 6 Creedmoor. I turn my necks, slightly before sizing the parent case down. The donut that I get is so small that I don't even have to adjust the neck turner.

    22 creedmoor

I'm shooting the Nosler 80 gr. CC bullets with H-4350. I'm loading 41 grs. and getting a Magneto Sporter reading of 3511 fps out of a 28" barrel.

When to use expander mandrel in the process?

I went from 'factory' bottleneck dies - complete with expander ball - to neck bushing dies, expecting to get better results from sizing. Got better yet I thought I could do better. Took expanders out first, figuring they were 'pulling' shoulders and necks out of position desired, contributing...

When to use expander mandrel in the process?

I gave up on the expander a while ago. I now use Redding Type S FL Bushing for all my stuff. However, I still use the expander mandrel also.

    6-284 with 95 gr bullets

No bullet keyholing at all. Primers are all fine. I have loaded it up until I got hard extraction so, I know I have plenty of room over, "max". I checked the Berger twist calculator and it says I'm OK with the 95 gr bullets with my 8 twist. Well, lots of company in the house until Monday. Have...
