Thompson Center / TC Arms returning

I only have front loader experience with TC but from what I have read and observed they were the gold standard with Knight at the time being the largest competitor. I have heard that the Compass overall shot better than it ever should have for the money but never shot one to know first hand.

Thompson Center / TC Arms returning

Ronws: I think that the firearm line is coming 2025 so I would anticipate announcements to follow soon. nagantguy: I missed out on the contender, and largely regret not getting an Encore when I had the chance. That said I have a TC Black Diamond that holds a lot of special memories afield...

Go To No Frills Scope Rings?

I think I have close to 10 sets of Seekins (or Vortex PRM same thing) no issues with any of them.

Thompson Center / TC Arms returning

Gregg Ritz from Huntmasters TV / Wild Communications is leading a "group" that has acquired TC Arms from Smith and Wesson. Prior to the 06 purchase by S&W they had a great smoke stick (My TC Omega is a tack driver for a smoke pole). Ritz was a former CEO of TC which makes me wonder if he...

    155 ELD-Ms 308 Gas Gun Powders / Loads

I have seen the same thing with 8208 in bolt guns spiking pressure up quickly. To avoid brass getting chewed up I try to stay off the top end if I can find something that will shoot lower. Note edited: I try to avoid max loads on gas guns.

    155 ELD-Ms 308 Gas Gun Powders / Loads

It is a steel Proof. Just plug and play and verified it was good with a no-go and go gauge.

    155 ELD-Ms 308 Gas Gun Powders / Loads

Decided to pull out my 308 gas gun and get some more time behind it. I put it together in 2017 and have not shot it much. Specs Below. Initially I ended up shooting 155 ELD-Ms over RE-15. My supply of RE-15 is gone now and I haven't be able to resupply. That said I have Varget and 8208 on...

Help with a new 300 PRC rifle purchase - solid factory offerings

Hornady list 1-10 twist as minimum for the 225 ELD-M. I bet Seekins has done their homework.

Help with a new 300 PRC rifle purchase - solid factory offerings

    I'd check Seekins precision out.

New Lilja Barrel for CZ457 MTR

I added the sims until I got the results I wanted. I think in total I tried 3 different shim stacks and landed at the longest option. This was after measuring the action with a depth gauge. Not sure if the 457 uses the same shim stack as the 455 though.

    Arca Rail for XLR Element

I run one of the Area 419 rails and screwed it in to the bottom of my GEN 1 Element. I kept it ahead of the front action screw.

    .223 - 5.56

23.5 is where I stopped. not that my results are worth bragging. Im still looking for better consistency.

    .223 - 5.56

Did some testing with COL and 75s ELD-Ms and 80 VLDs today. Other than pulling a shot 2in low with 2.425 they all shoot around .75" or less. The 80 VLDs show some promise too. Im just wondering if I am splitting hairs. Each range trip I generally get one group that tears a ragged hole (see...

    .223 - 5.56

The magentospeed does change the groups in some cases actually making them tighter. But no sadly most of my testing was not with the MS on the gun. I loaded some VLDs this afternoon at .020 and .040 off the lands with a starting charge. I expect they will be SLOW. hope to shoot a test...

    .223 - 5.56

I’ve got some questions about 223 loads with 75 ELD-Ms and 80 Berger VLDs with IMR 8208 XBR in Lapua brass. I have a Redding Type S die with the following bushings .247 .248 and .249. Rifle is a Savage 10 with a Hawkhill 1-7T prefit with 223 Wylde Chamber. What Charges and COL are you finding...
