@Lmatt - pretty sure people were talking about aftermarket chassis. In my case my T3x CTR does not fit the T1x Bravo chassis and same going the other way. The pin hits the chassis. Sure it can be modified with a Dremel but it’s not a simple drop-in fit.

Although I appreciate the above examples of why an extended rail is useful, I on the other hand prefer them a little shorter. Both the Area 419 and Tacord could do with a shorter rail option that eliminates two of the rails out front. I’ve tested several of my scopes out on this rifle before...

Agree about the Midas TAC. Such a sweet scope.

You bet! 0.9” seems a little tall yet but give it a go and see. Before I swapped to my current T1x scope/ring/rail setup last week, I had the same scope on but with the Nightforce 30mm .885 Low ultralight rings and Area 419 30 MOA rail. It was also awesome and brought the scope a little higher...

@JSchell1309 They are the X-Low ones. They bring the scope way down about f*ck-all millimeters off the barrel (pic below). Lol. @littlepod If you’re talking to me, it’s not that I don’t like the DIP rail, it’s just that the other two are just nicer quality if you care about that stuff. The...

I’ve got the DIP 25 MOA (6061 aluminum), Area 419 30 MOA (7075 aluminum) and Tacord 30 MOA (steel). The latter two are the winners in the higher-end department. Right now I’ve got the Tacord rail on -- pic below.

Imo the best bang for the buck is the Athlon Midas TAC. It’s almost identical to the Ares BTR (Ares BTR has slightly different reticles and is illuminated). Glass is the same on both.

What models are you considering upper-tier?

Pretty sure it’s been this way for at least 10 years now. Grab the BT46-LW17. If that’s too much $$ then get the BT10-LW17 ??

Sure it’s cosmetic to some degree, but overall it’s a function over form thing. Especially with the Swept handle - it really changes the ergonomics. Have you ever cycled an Anschutz rifle? I can say they’re very nice. My 1712 feels nicer than my Vudoo ?, partially because of the 60° bolt lift...

    Tikka T1X

Well nobody except @cannoncrossfire can answer that at this time as it hasn’t been released yet, but my best guess is it will be a tight clean fit that eliminates the slop that is in the factory plastic shroud. Same as the T3x ones he makes. It is a precisely machined item and fits as such...

Definitely check out the Sterk bolt handle for the T1x. They’ll be shipping soon. His “Swept” handle is literally off the charts. He redesigned the traditional bolt knob into something extraordinary. Get his shroud as well while you’re at it, and if you still have the factory barrel on your...

No I was referring to the grub screws. Not the action screws.

Emailed Stoeger Canada (Tikka distributor) and they mentioned that Tikka hasn’t released the torque specs on those grub screws, however the person replying mentioned that he torqued his to 80 in-lbs after removing and reinstalling and there was zero affect on accuracy.

Appreciate the reply ?? *On second thought I wonder if the loctite gave a falsely high reading?

Anybody have any idea what to torque the three grub screws to that hold the barrel on?

Those of you with a T1x Bravo chassis , what are you torquing the action screws to? Anybody do any testing yet on the different torque values?
