Introducing a youth to shooting... what rifle?

I can agree that a .22 pistol is not the right choice to start someone out shooting. I have the single shot rifles and both kids (7/9) do well with them. I did give them both a chance to shoot my Ruger Mark III... Showed them by shooting it myself and then again, explained exactly what would...

Introducing a youth to shooting... what rifle?

I have started both of my kiddos on the Savage Rascal. Went down the road of the BB gun however the LOP was too much. The rascal is perfect for them. Operates like all of my bolt guns and transition will be easy in the future. I have left the iron sights on them both however they are drilled and...

    Swivel Stud Picatinny Rail Adapter

I apologize... I went back to see where I messed up my explanation and I found it. I meant to say, I do not have fixed swivel studs. I have flush cups with QD swivel studs. I apologize for the screw up. Thank you for your help and replies.

    Swivel Stud Picatinny Rail Adapter

No, I have a bi-pod on it. I put the Harris on the QD Stud. Here is a pic of the rifle. I will edit with a pic of just the forend in a few. I have to go and take one. The QD stud for the bi-pod is a rotating stud. The rest are non-swivel studs.

    Swivel Stud Picatinny Rail Adapter

You are correct, I do not have any swivel studs, only flush cups. After a lot of looking, I found a few pics of a weaver and blackhawk mount which were said to have been used on a flush cup QD swivel stud but I honestly may have not seen it correctly. Originally, I did find a link for an adapter...

    Swivel Stud Picatinny Rail Adapter

I like the Seekins rail and that is the route I will go if I decide I like the bi-pod. I currently use a Harris bi-pod and have two QD non rotating studs on the forearm of the stock. Problem that I have is I cannot fix the Seekins rail to the stock via the swivel studs since I got two QD studs...

Rifle Scopes SWFA SS Black Friday Sales

My guess is that they will not charge backorders. They may confirm the order with an confirmation number but if the item is on backorder, I would think that it wouldn't be charged until shipped.

    Rifle Scopes .300 BLK optics?

I took a different route on this one. I own some good glass but figured I would try something different on my SBR. I went with a Nikon P-300BLK 2-7x32. I shoot only subs and have found that for me, this round has reached its limitations at 100 yards. All the areas that I have hunted are set up...

    Swivel Stud Picatinny Rail Adapter

I have done some searching in this forum and while I have found a few posts regarding this item, I cannot seem to find any definitive good or bad reviews. Does anyone have any experience with this product and if so, can you provide some feedback. It would be appreciated. I had no intentions of...

    Savage 10 TR 308 threaded 24" vs Rem 700 ss 308 24" 5R milspec

I have a savage 10 PC and shoot suppressed and have been very happy with it. I have had sub MOA groups with this rifle from the start. I do like the accutrigger and while I have had people suggest I change it out, I have had no issues with it at all. I am not sure why they recommended that to me...

    Bulgling/Failed Brass - S&B Head Stamp - .223

I I did not take it as offensive at all. I apologize if my reply came across that way. I appreciate all comments. Edit: after going back and reading my reply, I can see how it would be construed that way. That was not my intent. I just wanted to be clear that I didn't want to come to the...

    Bulgling/Failed Brass - S&B Head Stamp - .223

There is no case in the chamber. I have the last fired case in my possession. It's dirty because I shot ~150 rounds through it the week before firing the reload. I didn't see much sense in cleaning the gun that will require as new barrel. I set the upper in the corner after taking it to the...

    Bulgling/Failed Brass - S&B Head Stamp - .223

All due respect, this rifle is not being used. I'm not messin' around on the internet. I'm politely asking if anyone has had issues like this and could share their experiences. I understand the severity of what happened which makes me all the more interested to ask as few questions. Following...

    Bulgling/Failed Brass - S&B Head Stamp - .223

The S&B were factory loads fired first, a year ago. Lake city brass was fired last. I was not aware of the failures, split cases or bulges, from the S&B rounds until last weekend. I have 1000 rounds of once fired LC brass that I bought after being told it was all fired from an AR. I was...

    Bulgling/Failed Brass - S&B Head Stamp - .223

If you are confused with what has happened, I did not do a good job of explaining. Please let me try again. The bulge I mentioned is in the brass. You can see it good in the round that did not split. I have included a pic of the chamber but I am having a hard time getting a good pic. In the pic...

    Bulgling/Failed Brass - S&B Head Stamp - .223

Sorry for this being long winded but I figure the back story is worth telling. I have had my Rock River Elite Operator II for a few years. I have shot ~500 rounds through it and I had picked up the majority of my brass from the beginning. I did not start reloading until about one year ago and I...
