Night Vision New Armasight Units (Sidekick and Jockey 640s)

Nope, I sent it off to another guy to test and he's been busy fixing the Mississippi River :D I'll see if I can get somebody working on an RH25 (as a clipon) compare.

Night Vision New Armasight Units (Sidekick and Jockey 640s)

He means the latter - rails on rails to get the net center of the jockey closer to the planned day scope center. Here's an example: 1.31 (utc x center) plus 0.5 riser = 1.81 center to match up pretty closely to that ELCAN MGO center.

    Night Vision Voodoo-M vs xELR

I've run the theons side by side with bae cored units on numerous occasions and different terrain settings. In SW MO across all seasons -27F to 100F ... The M wins under 600m in all conditions, the ELR wins over 600m in open ground over 600m. Repairability. Neither POT nor Theon win CS...

    Rifle Scopes NX8 1-8 Dissapointing?

I have 2 x ATACR 1-8x DMX and 1 x NX8 1-8x DMX and if I was buying today, I'd get another NX8. Main difference is the ATACR has wider exit pupil and I was worried about that, but the results on the critters indicate its not a problem in my world. Have ATACRs on DMRishes, Mk11 ish and Mk12...

Night Vision Skeet L vs X

Yeah the skeets aren't new IIRC the 640 versions were probably released 2014 ish ? But they sure are tiny ... and despite many other head mounted thermals coming out since ... the general consensus is the skeet 640s are still top of heap for a tiny scanner. The triijicon skeets use the...

Night Vision Skeet L vs X

 Skeets or IR-Patrol gen 2 ??? KAC hindquarters - oh no - that'll jack up the price 50%

Night Vision Skeet L vs X

When trijicon first announced manufacturing of the OASYS line ... the "licensed" word was used. https://www.trijicon.com/community/post/now-licensing-oasys-thermal-imaging-and-aiming-technology-from-bae-systems The original OASYS company was bought by BAE in the early 2010s...

    Night Vision Safran TAD

Yeah the first time I was out with a coti rolling on a 4 wheeler - I entered a dark area and everything lit up - and I almost crashed cause I didn't know what was happening ! Serves me right for not experimenting on foot more first ! I wasn't praising the feature, just pointing out it...

    Night Vision Safran TAD

So wait, I've never used an ecoti either. Have 2 x 320 cotis and 1 c5e. My 2 x320 have a threshold setting that triggers a super bright image. So I am rolling along on 4 wheeler looking at a well lit area and image is nornal, but I look into a dark area and the coti lights up and goes triple...

Night Vision New Armasight Units (Sidekick and Jockey 640s)

RH25, software demag, image gets smaller ... Call UNV and ask em why they lowered price !! :)

Night Vision New Armasight Units (Sidekick and Jockey 640s)

As a scanner, either head mounted or handheld, I'd go with the RH25 based on the iray core > armasight core (at least based on current "tuning" on the armasight core). As a clipon, its pretty close. I'd have to run them side by side to be sure. The sizes are pretty similar, the...

    Night Vision Safran TAD

Well if the rocks and critters are all 100F ish ... then separating them might actually be tough ! Its usually not that hot in KS (or MO where I am now). But the rocks ought to cool off fast after the sun goes down - if the air does ! So, yeah, on hot summer days you might have to wait...

    Night Vision Safran TAD

    10/12 = 83.333 so its 16.666 % smaller ... definitely meaningful !! But when we went from 17 to 12 we had 12/17 = 70.58 ... or 29.4% smaller ... so just a little more than half that difference.

    Night Vision Safran TAD

Interesting, I've killed more than 100, but less than 200 critters with coti 320 and taken it out 100s more times and my brain never encountered this issue. I was in KS then, Flint Hills area so some woods, creeks and hills, but lots of open hilly pastures. I used across all the seasons...

    Night Vision Safran TAD

Ah, but I was comparing to the 320 coti which is 20 FOV.

    Night Vision Safran TAD

I heard a rumor the "AI" was not installed due to "The Army didn't pay for it". Not even sure what that means. But if that's true then maybe the Army didn't pay for patrol mode either !!?? :ROFLMAO:   As to improved resolution ... there might be multiple definitions. In...

Night Vision Need advice on first thermal purchase

Training on a "square range" is necessary ... but not sufficient. You need to "take yourself out of your comfort zone" - as often and as far as possible within practical constraints. Starting by learning defensive/home defense with pistol/carbine in the daytime will get you some of that.

Night Vision How far off are we from 1280 Sensor clip ons?

The OASYS cores (relabeled BAE cores) used in the original Oasys line as well as the Trijicon (Electro Optic and their Oasys ) lines ... as well as N-Vision ... as well as PoT thermals definitely use image processing to improve the image - and its still amazing after well over a decade - to see...
