New Contest Starting Now! This Target Haunts Me
Tell us about the one that got away, the flier that ruined your group, the zero that drifted, the shot you still see when you close your eyes. Winner will receive a free scope!
The ptg dbm works fine. The anodizing is total garbage. Might as well just used a permanent marker. Ive seen one with a large lip of uncut material on the trigger end. Would have needed filed off to fit in the inlet of the stock. You have to watch that the larger OD of the exposed...
Im not really getting the point of this thread. You say you have your "ideal" build planned out. Then your asking if your being foolish for not jumping on a bandwagon that you have no interest in..........
DT has a bore guide. You can leave the barrel in or take it out. Id get a length of PVC pipe to run the length of the race way into the extension, no mess
You coukd keep your eye out in the PX for something used. Your not gona get anything as cheap or close to the ptg price new, Prob not even used. Get the ptg and fill in the stock
Should have pricing in the next 2-3 weeks. International orders will have to go through an exporter. How we handle that is, you supply us with the contact info of an exporter in the US and we ship to them. The exporter handles getting the part to you.
I wouldnt be surprised if it did change POI. Depending on how tight its strapped. I wouldnt be strapping around the scope ethr. See lots of guys using the objective like a carry handle too. Just dont see any good coming from doing that. Know a guy who had scope internals come...
Funny, I use that phrase! It is rather true seeing how the small block and the 700 have not changed very much since they were born. "Got it right the first time" as they say ;)
It could be an issue for any action if the case comes out of the feed lips before the tip of the bullet is started into the chamber. The bullet tip can end up stabbing into the end of the barrel tenon.
We did some testing a few years ago with factory ammo and found 23" & 26" worked well and were in line with quick loads "accuracy node" If your hand loading then barrel length does not matter to a point, your going to tune for your barrel anyways.
I had a mag that would only take 4 223Rem's. Was stiff as hell to load. Ended up cutting a coil or two from the spring, works great now and holds 5 rounds easy.
Im looking forward to these mags also. Not sure how they will feed the Dasher. The feed lips are a little shorter than on an AICS mag, at least the mag Ted had at SHOT was.
7RM, LRM, 28Nos would get it done but 1 mile seems to be around their max +/- looking at velocity from 2900-3100fps. 300WM, 300 & 338NM. 338LM would be better getting to 2000-2200yd I think. A long barrel would be your friend
The cocking piece is probably pushing down on the sear and bottoming it out. Heavy bolt lift is from forcing the cocking piece back over the bottomed out sear. The CE do not have much sear travel. You could try to file a little off of the bottom of the cocking piece. The trigger pin holes in...
