Barrel flats, any one use them?

Yeah the Mcmaster options started at 15/16" A 3/8 torque wrench is a good thing to have; even harbor freight has some really cheap options for them.

Strasser RS 700: straight pull Remage-style barrel nut that uses R700 accessories (stocks, triggers)

Yes, I made some shouldered barrels for the Strasser. We have a few here now, got our wires crossed with them and they wanted barrel nut barrels so I have several prefits sitting on the shelf that need a home. I thought it was a really slick action, they have a pretty cool product.

Barrel flats, any one use them?

https://www.mcmaster.com/5844A17/ Mcmaster has a 3/4" with a 3/8 drive. It's less than the snapon truck FWIW

    First Remington 700 build..

What's the twist in the 308 barrel? In the short term you may have an easy jump to shoot some of the 308 caliber monos that I designed and manufacture to get you to 1100 yards with better consistency. https://patriotvalleyarms.com/seneca-match/ On the rifle project topic: It's well covered...

Barrel flats, any one use them?

Just hand snapping it. What you're doing with holding the butt between your feet and using a wrench is definitely getting more torque on there than just the snap of the wrist.

Barrel flats, any one use them?

We have cut a bunch of them over the years. It's functional no doubt. The torque question comes up and we recommend 75-100 because we need to put a number on there lest the old adage of 'if tight is good, then tighter is gooder' will be applied. Last year someone took it to heart and put so...

Anyone rebarrel an AR50 to 375x50bmg?

I haven't, however I was involved with the 375 Warner development about 10 years ago and we ended up cringing at each shot due to the incredibly short barrel life. It wasn't a 375-50 but more like a modified 375-415 Barrett with a different shoulder. Powder availability is the problem we ran...

    .223 Rifle Build

I have two options for 223 chambers, both the same body (which is also the same as a Wylde) 0.062 freebore (a Wylde is 0.0618, so it's a Wylde, I just got tired of people calling and saying "What's the freebore of your Wylde") 0.100 freebore (designed for bolt guns shooting 70+ grain bullets...

    Your PVA prefit experience

This is one of the reasons why we do not share reamer prints nor are we often going to make changes to prints because the internet opines that something should be done.

    Your PVA prefit experience

If you email us we can manually add it to your order, it's not an online option currently due to the limited quantities that we have available. We need the action to put the bolt head and action together to get a specific headspace on those two pieces.

    Your PVA prefit experience

It's been a while since I made a specific effort to provide a status update, so here we go: MODUS Rifles: We have a bespoke stock for all of the rifles now and they're in production already. The stocks are carbon shell, lightweight core and they're a shade under 25oz as shown with a full...

    PVA now offering AR15 barrels!

We just finished up a batch of AR barrels (I apologize for how long it took us) We have 223 Wyldes in the usual 16/18/20 and we added 16" with Intermediate length gas (using the Noveske spec IM). I didn't make a ton of those so we could see how they would sell, but we do have about 2 dozen...

Hunting & Fishing Cayuga" Hunting Bullets

Quick Update: I took out some 170's this morning and shot them to just inside 700yards and didn't have problems with repeatability on steel. I didn't have an issue with a known 8 twist, however it seems there's something happening here that is causing some people issues with this particular...

Hunting & Fishing Cayuga" Hunting Bullets

Can you email me the exact data on your rifle ? [email protected] I do my best to give the best fidelity data I can provide, not padded data to account for fluff in other company products. That's how the industry has taught people "well the box says 7 twist required but my buddy shot...

Hunting & Fishing Cayuga" Hunting Bullets

That's a good idea, can you give me some more data on what you are shooting? What's the DA you're running in and having problems? Jeff did a bunch of testing on the 151's and 170's but I tested them here at 500-700 DA and had no trouble at 700 yards. All the data we publish is tested as close...

    .223 Rifle Build

There's a lot of stuff in this hobby/sport/industry that's very subjective. I think there's been a lot of great advice in here on actions/stocks/etc. The thing I'll reinforce is this: Spend the money on a really good barrel. We all know a 700 with a good barrel will shoot really well. We...
