New Contest Starting Now! This Target Haunts Me
Tell us about the one that got away, the flier that ruined your group, the zero that drifted, the shot you still see when you close your eyes. Winner will receive a free scope!
IMR 4451 and H4350 are close in burn rate but Quickload is telling me 4451 is too bulky a powder to be useful.
I won't use a powder without published data from either the powder or bullet company which I then fine-tune with QuickLOAD.
I would look for one of the powders on Cutting Edge's list...
Unfortunately, the 125 gr Maximum bullet is not in the database.
The 130 with IMR 4451 and Hornady brass (greater case capacity than Lapue usually) shows you probably can't get enough powder in the case to make 4451 a good choice.
Look for a faster powder.
I switched barrels on more than one rifle for a while and gave up.
There is a reason action wrenches and barrel vices were invented. I like to shoot more than switching barrels and re-zeroing.
I am slowly using up barrels and reverting to dedicated rifles.
I am far from the "man with one...
There certainly is a difference in the receiver ejection port but I was not aware of a difference in the mag cutout.
I have both but do not know what I am looking for.
Open top.
But that is a good question.
Open versus closed top receiver should not affect the feeding from the box magazine, but it may affect the ease of even ability to top load.
I have adjusted the feed lips on the box to be able to top load. The open top is a plus here.
I suspect with...
Works for my Mausingfield with M5 Obendorf bottom metal and a Wyatt center feed box for 300 PRC.
This application might work better with ARC than Impact. The controlled round feed captures the round when it leaves the box.
Mausingfield M7, Proof CF, Manners EH-5.
Nothing to see here, right? Look closer.
Guess MCS really does love their work.
Is anyone else getting hidden messages?
I have long had an issue with threads such as this. No particular problem with this thread but I have been meaning to raise my issue for some time and now seems like as good a time as any.
My issue is I don't much care how an action feels without a trigger installed or without a round feeding...
It's called the plonk test for a reason. The loaded round should drop into the barrel (out of the gun) with a plonk and fall out when you turn the barrel muzzle up. Excessive flare will fail this test. A bullet loaded too long will as well. Check your overall length.
Don't worry about it...
The spigot fit to a Bravo chassis touches a Proof Sendero CF barrel.
Washers under the front two bolts create clearance but make it look goofy.
Stable enough but not enough clearance.
Watch the for sale section of this Forum.
308’s done by the best in the business turn up regularly at bargain prices by folks “upgrading” to the 6.5 CM.
Good luck.
Foundation stocks are works of art fit to your specifications.
Speak with Jon Kyle before deciding.
A Foundation might be a bit heavy compared to the other options.
If they made a two-pound version, Foundation is the only stock I would own.
Mine are all dark distressed.
Good luck.
I see that vertical pattern with an unstable front rest or inconsistent recoil management in particular with magnum calibers.
The bullet is still in the bore when the rifle recoils. Some rifles like to free recoil straight back. Some like to be held down.
Try shooting from a solid front rest...
