    It's usually an issue with the brass. Exactly what factory ammo are you using and does it stick with other types/brands of ammo? Clean the chamber if you haven't already and try using some quality ammo. Remington 5R's are well put together and a big step above all the other 700 production...

    Those MRT slings actually kind of suck. The frogs don't fit well into the round holes and they fall out easily. That's why you see the duct tape on the originals. The leather is pretty thin as well. Consider a better quality M1907 sling If you're not concerned about building an exact clone.

    Shouldn't be any headspace issues between .308/7.62 with the M24. If you want to be authentic, it's possible to still find LC M118LR to shoot and reload. Federal makes FGMM 7.62 SMK BTHP as well, which would be even better.

    Tally mounts are nice, no doubt. I've had a couple of sets but keep going back to the steel base w/rings. Tally's are light and nice for top loading a BDL but with a two-piece base, you can get the same result. The Talley aluminum caps just seem a little thin. They're advertised to be super...
