    147gr ELD and Reloader 26 Test

    I have some loads ready to test with H4831SC and 147g ELD 10thou jump, 24” barrel. I believe I went up to 48g with nothing but a drop tube. Hopefully I can test soon, might wish I went with RL26!

    Is anyone working with a 7mm Rem Mag?

    I achieved the best accuracy out of both my 7mm rm's with rl22. I've moved away from H1000 after splitting two seaters in my Forster benchrest die with slightly compressed loads. I've also had decent luck with 180 Bergers and non compressed retumbo.

    Rifle Scopes Another Vortex down

    Just sent my 4-16 pst in a couple months ago. The Parralax knob quit on my second range trip with the scope. It was on a 22lr trainer. I'll never put below a razor gen II on my centerfires if going with Vortex.

    I use the Rcbs automatic bench priming tool. Once you get in the rhythm it works well.

    Bto is 2.232 Coal is 2.888 (Hornady book says 2.800 Fyi) I don't have a ball micrometer to measure neck thickness unfortunately. It's just standard Fgmm 1x brass, I don't turn the necks and do 2 thou tension with a redding neck sizer using a 0.336 TiN bushing.

    Half moa at 100yd. Around 2730fps from what I remember. 20" tikka barrel so definitely a hot one. It's my hunting load this year. Fits in an accurate mag with room to spare can measure bto and coal if you would like.

    Quality brass isn't as easy to find for the 7mm RM as it is the 300wm. I love my 7mm with 180 Bergers stuffed over retumbo.

    Usually neck tension is the cause if primers are all correctly seated and you've measured the bullets to check for variation and find none.

    Bto with comparator and 143 Eldx is 2.262 touching lands. Hornady ammo measures 2.163 bto. So 0.099 off lands. The rifle does have a tight throat, but it doesn't seem to make a difference with my reloads.

    Has anyone experienced this with the 143g 6.5 creed factory ammo? I fired 3 rounds with this ammo just to test and all three had a heavy bolt lift with swipe marks on the brass in my savage 10ba stealth? ​​​​​​I didn't see any large Headspace jumps from loaded ammo vs fired on the three cases...
