    My mkii will out shoot my rpr all day long. Only upgrade is boyds stock and bottom metal. Use an athlon midas tac on it. Favorite rimfire rifle by far.

    Sand Sock

    I use poly beads in an old stocking and then put that in a winter sock. Works great!

    I think 8ft would be a little tight. Figure most people are 6ftish and when prone the gun sticks out a good 2ft.

    I have a 10' x 10' platform 11' high. Used 16' 6x6 posts, one in each corner. Can easily accomidate 3 shooters. It was very wobbly until i added 2x6 cross members from ground level to platform, one on each side. Very happy with it.

    Entry-level options other than CZ, Ruger

    Savage mkii all day long. I have two, one stock and one in a boyds evolution stock. Both shoot one hole at 50 yards, but the stock stock is not very nice to use. Norma tac-22 is their favorite round and not too expensive. This is what i would have bought if it was available at the time...

    Savage MK II replacement stock?

    Mine was a great shooter out of the box, but the Boyd's stock was well worth the ~$150.
