Rifle Scopes Tangent Theta vs Minox ZP5 5-25 review

Down here in Aus the TT's are around $6000 AUD. My Minox ended up at $3200 landed here. Haven't had a chance to look through a TT but I much prefer the MR4 reticle than anything currently offered in Nightforce, TT, Vortex, S&B. Personally find the centre dot reticles fractionally faster and...

Anyone running 6mm BR in a Tikka T3 action?

I've got a 6mm Dasher on a Tikka. Negative on the PMAGS, they need to have the feed lips clearanced to fit into the bottom of the action inlet and even with that done would not feed BR case. AICS with Patriot or PVA BR mag kits both work. Nil issues with extraction. The 6mm BR will feed a...

Anybody else wanting Timney to come out with a trigger for the Tikka T3?

https://www.cg-triggers.com/cgt-tikka-sako I have one of these, very happy with it. https://www.facebook.com/pg/Man-at-a-Mile-1488846871422335/photos/?tab=album&album_id=1675633539410333

Tikka T3 action in a Manners 4a CTR stock

The CTR action has an addional piece milled out under the action between front of the mag inlet and front action screw hole. 5 min job on a mill or if you are ok with a small hand file. It's too clear the top of the mag follower ramp on CTR/TRG mags. It has no effect on being able to swich...

Rifle Scopes Center dot vs cross type reticle?

For my eyes I prefer a centre dot. I find them fractionally faster to use as my eye appears to be able to centre the dot on a target quicker than a cross or open centre. I have a Minox ZP5 with the MR4 reticle and while ideal for ELR type shooting the dot is really too small to use at anything...

Rifle Scopes Z8i vs vx6 hd glass

I'm interested in the VX 6 HD 3-18 as well. Really little out there with it's feature set for a lighter weight, do it all rifle. The low profile locking turrets on both elevation and windage, illumination, light weight and some decent reticle choices (liking the impact 29 MOA) appeal. This...

Small primer firing pin in Tikka

Nothing required, I have 5 Tikka's, 223, 6mm Dasher, 2 x 7-08 and a 7mm RSAUM. Nil issues with small rifle primers in 223, 6mm Dasher and 7-08s (running Lapua palma brass) all are running some pretty warm loads.

    Rifle sling recommendations

I recently got an FTW sling from Rifles Only. Very happy with it. I've sold another couple of my slings since as the FTW suits my purpose better. If you're doing any kind of positional shooting the quick adjustments and bungee work exceptionally well. If you're carrying the rifle muzzle down...

MATCH REPORT: Gunslinger Team Challenge at Sparrowhawk New Zealand 31 May, Jun 1-2 2014

Congratulations Greg, You blokes went alright by the look of the match report. I'm a little envious as I'd love to swing a leave pass away from the wife and kids to have a bash at a comp like that. Cheers

    OMG, my primers!

It's a well known 'quirk' on AI's. 6.5mm Shootout: .260 Remington vs. 6.5x47 Lapua vs. 6.5 Creedmoor "I also learned that the pressure limiter in the system would be piercing primers. The AI-AW is set up to be utterly reliable in harsh field conditions and ignite mil-spec 308 primers. In guns...

    Power pro 2000 in 7mm-08

The only way you'll know is to work up the loads in your rifle looking for pressure signs. COAL, projectiles bearing length, chamber and throat dimensions all influence the result. I started my load work up at 42gr. It was an educated guess taking into account other loads I've worked up in...

    7mm-08 and Berger classic 168's

Sorry Blokes, Been a bit short on time. Comp ended up being 500, 600, 600 comp as our 700 yard mound is a pile of truck dumped dirt. I went with 45.3gr 2000-MR at 2.885" COAL at 2800fps. Lapua 260rem cases expanded up, RWS Primers. I used Strelok and come ups were as indicated for...

    7mm-08 and Berger classic 168's

Colcalcipherol, Yes, Berger's BC claim is spot on. I've been using the 168gr Classics for a while. Input .309 G7, muzzle velocity and the other variables and it's given me first round hits out to 1000yards. I'm in Australia so it will be a while before we see 162gr Amax's on our shelves...
