    Gunsmithing TRG barrel removal help!

    My TRG also had a very tight barrel barrel fit. I ended up applying some controlled heat from a propane torch to the front part of the action to get the action to expand marginally from the barrel threads. Then a swift yank on the 3 ft cheater bar attached to the action wrench.

    Fieldcraft What water purification tablets ?

    Steri-pen is great for hiking, as long as you have extra batteries or a solar charger. I used a steri- pen for 2 years of drinking/ brushing teeth water while working in China. Works well, but only 1 liter at a time. Had to run the water through a Brita filter to get rid of the off taste though.

    Could something like this support a Dillon 550C?

    It would be possible to run a strongmount on the ground, but you would need to be kneeling. It could also be bolted to some 4x4 spacers to raise the height, but don’t think that you would really be comfortable doing much work with anything lower than waist level.

    Looks like it would work on a 550. But you could just buy the stongmount instead. I use the strongmount and then 3 large c- clamps to mount the press onto the corner of a sturdy table. The back corner of the mount closest to the center of the table ends up without a clamp on it as I did not...

    The normal full price for the non- seconds item is a way to tell. The Sierras are $21.99 per box, so that would be my guess, as no other .224 55 gn boattail matches the full list price.

    If the chamber is really stretching Win brass, perhaps there is a headspace issue and the same will happen to you Lapua brass? I use LC LR or LC brass as I do not need absolute maximum case capacity nor really expensive brass. Google search: glen zediker m14 for basic, but perhaps a bit dated...

    You might try Paul Bike, I bought one from him 3 or 4 years ago: http://forum.accurateshooter.com/threads/pbike257-information.3899351/ Only down side is that is in not attachable to a torque wrentch, so you have to use his t-handle.
