New Contest Starting Now! This Target Haunts Me
Tell us about the one that got away, the flier that ruined your group, the zero that drifted, the shot you still see when you close your eyes. Winner will receive a free scope!
Just a quick note to thank everyone for a great match! And thanks to the guys on my team (Esp Rick) for all the helpful tips along the way.
Of course the wind was humbling as usual :)
Cant wait to see the results...
Again thanks to Quickdraw40 and the team. I think this is probably the best introductory match into Long Range shooting around these parts... fun time had by all. Cant wait to see the scores!
yup - just to echo what ScottyD said above...(I was also in the same squad as he was) It is the people at this match that really make it so great. Anyone who is a little scared of shooting this format should not be. Lots of coaching and advice (and friendly teasing!) from the more experienced...
Hi there everyone -
I will be loading up some .308 rounds for my Sako TRG22 - using Lapua 155gr Scenar.
My question is this:
Will I be limited by the magazine length BEFORE I am able to seat the rounds right at the lands?? (i.e. is it worthwhile for me to chase the lands, or is the...
Re: CO Rifle Club (CRC) Long Range Precision Rifle
Edit - i just re-read the original post - no sight in allowed on this range.
Is there someone who is a member that would be willing to escort me to the range that DOES allow sight in?
Re: Zero from bench is different to zero from prone?
As i think back to my shooting from the bench vs. prone, i realized one more thing - my shooting from the bench was done with my prescription reading glasses, while my i used my prescription sunglasses when shooting prone...
I wonder if it...
Re: CO Rifle Club (CRC) Long Range Precision Rifle
Hi Guys - looking forward to this weekend's match!
Is it at all possible to have some shooters sight in before the match? Would that be allowed at this range (not sure if we could do it on the Shillouette range...?)
Re: Zero from bench is different to zero from prone?
Guys this is invaluable learning for me...
Pease keep this thread going and let us know how much of a POI shift you get (Graham & Varmint Slayer)
Re: Zero from bench is different to zero from prone?
You guys rock! Thanks for the replies.
(And yes I do have astigmatism and wear prescription lenses...
To those with many more years of experience than I:
I have recently experienced 2 instances of different points of impact with the same rifle, same ammo. I zero'd the gun from the bench at 100 yards, then shot the next week in a prone position. The P.O.I. had shifted 3 mils down and 3 mils...
Re: Brighton CO LRPR match
This was a challenging match! Very cold and quite windy too.
I want to give a big thanks "quack303head" for helping this newbie out big time!
I was struggling to determine my hold overs and Quack went so far as to pull out his Kestrel, his Chrono and a ballistic...
Re: Brighton CO LRPR match
Just a quick question regarding the format of the match:
I understand that the targets are placed in a crescent shape anywhere from 250 to 600 yards... Do the shooters know the exact distance to each target? Or is that left up to your range estimation skills?
Re: Brighton CO LRPR match
Hi Guys -
I am just starting out in this game, and would love to shoot at this match, get some experience... Is there going to be one this month? (February?)
Much Appreciated.
