    Nucleus Light Primer Strikes

Correct. @ThePretzel energy may not change with mass of striker, but force will (as F=ma). What sets off primers, force, energy, or something else? EDIT: After some research, it seems that it takes enough energy applied over a short enough duration to set off a primer, so it may be more...

    Nucleus Light Primer Strikes

So you guys are saying the mass of the striker assembly is less important than the velocity of the striker? I'm asking because if you go to Ted's YouTube video on the Nucleus, at about the 26 minute mark, he talks about how the striker is hefty to allow him to use a lighter spring and keep...

    Nucleus Light Primer Strikes

To my knowledge they haven't used anything standard besides the 16# spring except in actions they were sending to PVA (in standard and John Hancock form).

    Nucleus Light Primer Strikes

I'd be willing to bet dollars to doughnuts because of this that the Archimedes will come standard with the 25# spring...

    Manners cheek piece service.

Personally, I don't like the looks of the Bradley and it's not but a few bucks less than what I got mine from Manners for. I also think it has a very good possibility of pushing your face way too far out from the centerline of the rifle unlike what I'm seeing with the Manners, but just my $.02

    Manners cheek piece service.

I got mine today and I don't think it's bad. It's a very minimalist cheek piece and I think it'll do its job well. That being said, I think the cost was definitely in molding the carbon fiber, because I could've made it out of pillars, screws, spacers, and scrap sheet metal for next to nothing...

    Introducing the AI Obsession Chassis

Prusa Mk3 for the win! I've been very satisfied with the one I've gotten to work with this semester designing my own AICS DBM system. I'm not an AI owner, but this is what I would want if I was. Great looking work! On a side note, what filament brand are you using and have you been noticing...

    Gunsmithing Magazine release springs

On AICS pattern bottom metals. I'm working on one and don't really know what spring to put in one. I'm using the spring from a clicky pen right now for testing purposes, but I need something sturdier for actual use.

why did ARC suspend Barloc sales?

And that's what I want to know. We need a baseline to measure against.

    Gunsmithing Magazine release springs

Can anyone point me in the right direction in terms of what springs are being used for AICS bottom metals? Length, rate, diameter, etc.

    Nucleus Light Primer Strikes

I'll definitely start with the 16# spring, but I've got a match the first week I get back from school, which is also the first week I anticipate getting it up and running. Load development Monday, Tuesday, verify drop Wednesday, load rounds Thursday, Friday, shoot a match Saturday. It'll be a...

    Nucleus Light Primer Strikes

Just for more data points... Trigger: XTSP Mod.22 (three lever model) Pin down: .296" Bolt up: .043" Cocked, bolt down: .034" (9 thou cock on close) Pin protrusion: .042" The "critical measurement" from the tip of the striker to the castle nut is 1.343" on my action. Total striker travel is...

    Nucleus Light Primer Strikes

You have to remove the castle nut and the spring and take the striker and cocking piece out the back of the shroud. To remove the castle nut, use the big washer ARC sent with the action, slip it over the castle nut, compress the spring, and unscrew the castle nut.

    Nucleus Build Pictures

I don't think the Nuke will do BDL. No feed lips on the action that I know of unless there's a system for that, but I know of none.

Anyone use VFG Pellets for cleaning other than rimfire

I plan to. Got a new cleaning rod and the VFG pellet tip, but haven't gotten to clean any rifles lately. Following.

    Gunsmithing Southern Precision rifles (Bugholes)

I've got a barrel down there right now. We've been waiting on the reamer to come in, but communication has been excellent. I've heard nothing but good things about Bugholes and it put my mind at rest when choosing a Smith to spin my barrel.

    Rifle Scopes Steiner M7Xi 4-28x56

ZCO published is "total" internal elevation. When I got mine, it was set up out of the box for almost 38 mils of travel. I don't know if that was full travel because I didn't take it down as far as it could. Zero stop was in the way and I wan't that curious. 35 mils is what is indicated by the...

PVA Status Updates: Hancock Rifle & NUCLEUS Barreled Action

Probably extreme, but since the Nucleus is already showing that is prone to failure because of lube getting on the spring/firing pin, I'll probably make it part of my cleaning regiment. Go to swab the barrel, let the solvents soak, de-grease the striker assembly and re-lube, finish with the...
