    In 1975 I worked as a service oiler on the trans-Alaska pipeline making $13.50/hr. That's $71 in today's money. An oiler on the north slope these days makes about $30/hr. I don't know what to say about that other than we're getting screwed.

    I used to work at Vista in Rim Fire Metal Parts - making brass. Depending on the header stamp we used it was CCI, Fiocchi, Federal, and a few others I don't remember.

    No shit a guy was reloading like that with a Model 70 in 30-06. Sheared the lugs off the bolt and the only thing keeping it from flying was the bolt handle. He took it to a gunsmith I know claiming it was a manufacturing defect and wanted Winchester to pay for it.

    Even in Alaska everybody relearns winter driving after the first snow fall. Going up Eagle River hill into Anch when it's slick there's always people in the ditch pretty much in the same place, right at that spot where the automatic trans downshifts and the wheels start spinning.
