New Contest Starting Now! This Target Haunts Me
Tell us about the one that got away, the flier that ruined your group, the zero that drifted, the shot you still see when you close your eyes. Winner will receive a free scope!
Re: Spotting scope advise
How is the stability at high power? I know by experience that a good head is crucial for scanning. THe cheaper ones skip a little and can make it rough on your eyes.
Re: Spotting scope advise
I put the scope on the scale and its at 4 lbs with the cover. Not terrible. My tripod however is just under 7lbs! Its a Zeiss manfroto with fluid head. So now I need advise on a tripod.
Re: Spotting scope advise
Tough to range exactly but I would say one of my spots is about 2.5-3 miles and I can put horns on them and decide weather its worth a stock.
What do you guys think of the leupold mark 4's? I sold my Kimber montana and had a m70 built so I'm carrying another 3lbs...
The last 2 seasons I've been packing a Swarovski habict 20-60x80mm. Scope is vital for spotting/stalking mulies in the high desert. Its downright heavy. What are my options for a nice scope that will reach out there but not have the weight?
Thanks in advance

Re: Which sight for m4 afghanistan
Thanks for all the input guys. I'll get in touch with him and have him find out if he will get a sight. He said something about using lighter armor because they had to climb over wall after wall so one of those micro sights might be a nice weight savings...

Re: Which sight for m4 afghanistan
Hes just out of basic. Stationed at Fort Riley Big Red 1. He said they would be watching the Pakistan border. That's about all I know for specifics.
I thought he would be issued something with magnification but he seams to think he wont.
I'll take a look...
My cousin is being deployed to Kandahar at the end of the month. He is issued a m4 with open sights and was told he can use his own optics on it if he chooses. I'm looking for advise on a sight for him. I guess in the 4x range. Is acog still the favorite? And what model? Thanks in advance.
Re: Help with value on a rare pistol
I called Earl and talked to him last year. Nice guy. He offered me store credit but the fact that I reside in a communist state (ca)prohibited him from being able to trade for another firearm. I believe it is a second edition. Thanks for the info.
Re: Help with value on a rare pistol
Yea thats me last year. Some guy said 900 and another guy saw one go for 5000. I need a little tighter range than that.
I took a Walther p99 "bond edition" Her majesties secret service in trade a few years ago. its a .40 cal in the box with certificate. Looks to have been shot. Wondered if there is anybody here that might know what its worth today.
I'm having a hunting rifle built on a budget. I just found a win m70 wsm action. Is the wsm action different from the Short action? I'm looking for something on the lighter side but with enough material for heavier barrel. Thanks in advance
Re: IR aiming laser options?
I picked one of these up from ebay.

Works great. A little pricey but its red dot in the daytime as well.
I found a good deal on a used one. Will it fit on my side charging Alexander Arms upper. Thanks in advance.
