New Contest Starting Now! This Target Haunts Me
Tell us about the one that got away, the flier that ruined your group, the zero that drifted, the shot you still see when you close your eyes. Winner will receive a free scope!
The tremor reticle on the 45 is not illuminated. I recently went with the 45 and for a clip on 15x is almost too much. So if that is a consideration I would stay away from 20x.
I just got shipping conformation for my tree reticle version, but no one has had mounts in stock for a while...
I have one on order with MK machining, but no ETA.
I played with both versions last weekend. Beam is very clean like the MAWL C1+ which is great for a clip on. However I agree with evenryone else that no alignment adjustability makes it use in that capacity limited. Hopefully there will be scout mounts with adjustability in the future, but for...
This is the best advice. Wait for night and point at the farthest thing you can see and align the vis laser to the reticle. Even if it’s an eye safe version, the laser is powerful enough at night.
Your other option is to set a parallel zero at 100y. Place a target on the ground, put your muzzle...
Their spec sheet for the M says:
“VooDoo-M features a patent pending dual-lateral Matrix adjustment mechanism to achieve zero POA/POI shift.”
Could be magic, or finicky. If no one else is going to step up, I might just have to give it a try.
@mako15 do you or anyone else have any images through the VDS to compare?
Since they have both been out for a while, has anyone given the VooDoo M a try? I am thinking of taking the plunge since the UTC-Xii is pretty much unobtanium at this point. The reason I am not interested in the Tig is I...
Deon confirmed it is dual focal plane. They also just announced on their site that they plan to start taking orders in Oct and hope to deliver in December.

Deon told me this week they plan to announce the 1-10x with a tree either late this year or early next year. They did specifically say 1-10x24FFP, so it isn’t clear if it will be a dual FP or not.
If someone has a 1-10x dual in stock I might just pick it up. I would also be interested in a...
As mentioned earlier, there was a 80mW S produced at some point, so that could explain why your S looks brighter then a unlocked non-S. Is yours a model G03?
Like I said earlier, I wouldn’t be surprised if the 100mW label is referring to the pointer and illuminator combined, especially since...
Interesting. Was Chuck specific about which model? There was a G03 high power model which was 80mW, but they only sell the G01 now which is claimed to be 50mW. Also, are you sure about the pointer being 80mW? That doesn’t align with any marketing documents or the user manual. Even between the...
Unfortunately that sticker does not represent the actual power of the illuminator. I have the same exact sticker on mine and it is for sure a 50mW model. So I think Wilcox uses it as a generic laser safety CYA label, and/or they are adding the IR pointer and illuminator numbers together to get...
DBAL-A2 or LA5 would work fine and both have tool less adjustment. Neither have super clean illuminators, but still work fine. DBAL-D2 has good range too, but no adjustment for the illuminator so better on a spotter. The LUNA is also impressive considering the price.
I was using a Tangent Theta 5-25x and stock PVS-27. It was super calm and only dialed 0.9mil for wind, most of which was from the PVS-27 collimation.
The reason a FP Raptar isn’t the end all is it should always be pointed where your zeroed reticle points, that way you have confidence in what...
Originally there were two high power models, one at 50mW and one at 80mW specifically for the illuminator. The 80mW version was discontinued some time ago and Wilcox has only been selling the 50mW version for the past few years.
I agree the S illuminator is pretty clean and 50mW is plenty for...
Eye box is bigger on the ATACR, but FOV is better on the Kahles. I like the image from the Kahles better in terms of clarity and size, while the ATACR has a lot of tunneling.
ATACR reticle is much brighter, but the 1-8x Kahles is still daylight bright. I kind of like my 1-6x Kahles better...
It’s “neat” but not $500 neat. The annoying thing is IPD is adjusted by a swing arm, so when you pivot them for pano mode you need to reset IPD for each position. That means transitions from each mode take a little more effort.
I have tired these and they don’t hurt your brain. It works surprisingly well given what it is trying to do. Yes there is less depth perception, but better then a single 14 and the wider FoV feels significant. Passive shooting is definitely more difficult, but haven’t used it enough to see if...
This is pretty common and happens because the clip on with the illuminator has to look at every single particle reflection between the rifle and the target. You are essentially staring down a beam of light which is bouncing off of everything along the way. When you use an illuminator off axis...
