New Contest Starting Now! This Target Haunts Me
Tell us about the one that got away, the flier that ruined your group, the zero that drifted, the shot you still see when you close your eyes. Winner will receive a free scope!
I spoke with Mile High today and they are awesome.... they’re having me overnight them the defective bolt. Adam is testing a new bolt in two of their AXMCs there on the range and is cross shipping me it as a replacement which I should have sometime tomorrow.
According to what he was able to...
Went over to my buddy’s house this evening and he wanted to try my .308 bolt in his rifle. We only tried his in mine Saturday... As expected with my bolt his will not extract either so that pretty much 100% confirms the .308 bolt I have is defective.
Hopefully Mile High can just swap it since...
Well... add my new AXMC to the list of extraction issues. Rifle works flawlessly with the .300 and .338 bolts and barrels. As soon as I switch to the .308 bolt and barrel it won’t extract. Switched also to my 6.5 and .243 barrels same deal.
Will not extract any unfired rounds at all and...
I originally though that and then remembered when I ordered my rifle - just a couple weeks ago that the ly didn’t show any of the 5/8x24 on anything.
If I wouldn’t have had to bet my 308 barrel from MH I would have never known that 5/8 was even an option. About three days later those appeared...
Already planned on that... just wanted to Have a better idea of what my options were before I ended up sounding like a total idiot on the phone with them.
I’m toying with the idea of getting a .300NM barrel for my axmc. However there doesn’t seem to be any information on the AI website to detail what the ‘options’ are.
Ideally, I’d like to get a 26 or 27 inch (whatever length they come in - which I don’t know) threaded 5/8x24 to match my other...
Compiling a lot of the changes barrel to barrel was what I was thinking. I realize that windage would potentially change. My concern was mainly with the zero stop interfering with the process.
So it doesn’t matter which caliber I do the initial zero with? I guess I figured one would...
Just received my AXMC and am in the process of getting everything setup. After getting my scope mounted it dawned on me that zeroing is going to be more complicated than I thought. Therefore I figured I better ask first rather than wasting a ton of ammo since many of you guys swap...
Was really wanting Schmidt Bender but after looking at their Reticles none of them was really to my liking all that well. I didn’t want to give up my Christmas tree reticle like I have on my Vortex. The H59 was the closest and I Was really considering it.
But after looking at the TreMoR3 and...
Well, it is DONE...... Whoooo hoooo!
I wanted to thank everyone for their insight, guidance and recommendations. I know that I overthink things and can make folks crazy with my questions... or so I've been told :)
This turned into quite an adventure in getting it ordered. I actually ended up...
Everyone,
Thanks so much for the guidance....
I'm now trying to finalize my optic choice and after further investigation am torn....
My original thoughts were for an SB PM II 5-25x56 with their P4L Fein reticle. HOWEVER, after learning that I'm not stuck with capped windage of the Nightforce...
6.5CM will probably be the next caliber I’ll experiment with when I can afford to add another barrel. That’s mainly why I went with the 300WM as the base so I can really add anything later and keep the same rifle.
So would the SB PMII 5-25x56 L/P DT P4F FFP 34mm .1MRAD CCW be ultimately a better choice then? Should I go that route instead?
For reference my Rem700P has a first gen Vortex Razor HD which is what I’m used to.
Lol... I’ve worked from October through now with not even a single day off (this includes Christmas) while a co-worker underwent major surgery, chemo and a long recovery. Most weeks were 60+ hr. Everything my department needed to do got done with absolutely zero delays.
My coworker came back...
Guys,
Longtime lurker and I must say you guys are all awesome. I’ve learned a lot just following various threads. Not sure if this is the correct place to post this but here goes....
** DISCLAIMER ** I apologize in advance for all the questions but I CAN’T afford to screw this decision up...
Thank you for the suggestion... I spoke with the folks at B&H and based on the technical data they have from Leupold they 'think' they have a lens cap that will fit the objective. For $26 is worth a shot and should be here Tuesday. Hopefully it fits.
It's just insane that something costing...
That's a slick (no pun intended) system... However, you're right, the cost is a little unreasonable for my needs. You'd think there's bound to be something aftermarket with 60mm being a popular size even from other manufacturers.
Guys,
Just purchased a new Leupold Mark 4 12-40x60 TMR spotter and was really surprised that Leupold doesn't include or seem to make optional lens covers for it. For those of you who have them, any recommendations to protect the objective lens? Does someone make lens caps that will fit these?
