Range Report Show me your AR15 5 x 5 tests

Dtech 20P upper. Sub MOA with N133 and 8028. N133 is more accurate but 8028 is faster at max loads. 39gr Sierra BK bullet.

    6mm small frame AR

Probably the flattest shooting 6mm cartridge for a small frame AR is the 243 WSSM. Historically, the availability of brass was poor, but Hornady and Winchester brass has become readily available. In addition, if you get a fast twist barrel, you can shoot out to 1k yards with the higher BC...

"best" small frame AR 6mm cartridge?

Or 243 wssm. See dtechuppers.com. With 95gr Sierra TMK you can shoot accurately out to 1k yds. Higher BC bullets exist but most won’t fit to mag length.

    WOA barrels, any recent reviews?

For light bullets the 12" twist WOA barrels use a proprietary "varmint" chamber with a shorter freebore. Works great in that application.

    Impact titanium action?

Titanium has terrible thermal conductivity. OK for bike frames. For rifle actions, not so much. Maybe sporters that aren’t shot much?

    Die Recommendations

WOA used to sell a Redding Type S sizing die with two Forster micrometer seating dies as a "National Match" set. A seater each for short line and 600 yds, respectively. They also claimed that they used this setup for NM AR.

Hornandy 6mm creedmoor 108gr eld ammo

I bought 100 pieces of Lapua brass but haven't loaded them yet. Workmanship and uniformity look great. But during load development with the Hornady brass, I shot a couple of three round groups in the 1's at 100. So I don't expect the Hornady brass to be much of a limiting factor. I'm running...

    Ruger Precision Rifle Discussion

The 6.5 PRC has a standard magnum bolt face (0.532") and apparently Ruger doesn't sell bolts separately, so you'd have to experiment on your current bolt in conjunction with the barrel switch.

Hornandy 6mm creedmoor 108gr eld ammo

No need for all that - Lapua sells 6mm Creedmoor SRP brass and it's brilliant.

Hornandy 6mm creedmoor 108gr eld ammo

I pulled apart about 15 rounds (bought the ammo for the brass) and the powder charge averaged about 40.2 gr. BTW, the five factory rounds I did shoot went into a 0.66" 5-shot center-to-center group, so they are not too shabby. Berger 105 gr hybrids with H4350 and CCI-BR2 primers shoot even better.

.223 rem 35 grain Hornady NTX

Shot them out of a .223 AR (WOA varmint chamber with short freebore) with a 1:12" twist. Shot just OK, but could not get them to shoot accurately as the 40 gr V-Max or Berger 52 gr FB target bullets. I also tried lead-free Nosler bullets in a 204R rifle and they were less accurate than loads...

John Hancock 6 or 6.5 Creedmoor

    100 - 600+ range isn't a well formulated query. At 100 - 600, the 6mm cm has better ballistics. At 600 - infinity, good luck with that.

    The Creedmoor Coolaid

@CJS-6.5 Didn't see the antecedent remarks that you were replying to. Mea culpa. I actually don't have a dog in this fight because I went with 6mm Creedmoor.

Powder other than H4350 for 20" 6.5 Creed?

Second the recommendation for RL-16. Might be even more temp insensitive than H4350.
