New to reloading .44 mag problems.

Re: New to reloading .44 mag problems. Thank you for all the replies. First off, I am new to reloading and .44mag. I've not shot any lead through this gun. I've shot many cowboy action loads through my .44 special Taurus though. I've had several trusted reloaders look at both my spent...

New to reloading .44 mag problems.

Alright, first post here after a lot of reading. I finally got my first reloading setup. I've decided to reload for my my .44 mag revolver before moving on to more complicated rifle rounds. My set up consists of a Rockchucker 2, Lee primer seating tool, and RCBS carbide dies. I wanted to...

First day out with the Winchester 75t.

Finally made it out with the Winchester 75t I purchased a while back. I am thoroughly happy with the rifle. After a full cleaning of the trigger assembly, bolt, and gun in general it shoots really well. The trigger on the rifle surpasses all my expectations, and it simply hits what it is...

    Rem 513t vs Win 52

Re: Rem 513t vs Win 52 Thanks for the advice. Plan is to get out tomorrow if the weather holds. I'll put up some photos and group shots once I have a chance to get out. Have a great weekend.

    Rem 513t vs Win 52

Re: Rem 513t vs Win 52 The Lyman does seem to be plenty nice for my uses. It's tight, and has little play between clicks. The clicks are tactile and audible, and they feel consistent through the range of motion. I've ordered a front Lyman site to match the back, a 17 to be precise. It...

    Rem 513t vs Win 52

Re: Rem 513t vs Win 52 Well I came home with the 75t, the one in better condition. The bluing is in really nice shape, with some wear on the bolt knob. The stock is in nice shape save for some minor wear as one would expect. Someone at some time put some small sized pieces of grip take...

    Rem 513t vs Win 52

Re: Rem 513t vs Win 52 Thank you for the replies. I'll take a harder look at the 75's they have. They have two of them, one at $500 with two mags, and on e at $550 with one mag, better condition, and a correct looking sling. Quick thoughts on the Redfield vs Lymans? Both 75's have...

    Rem 513t vs Win 52

I'm looking at purchasing my first, (and likely for a while my only,) aperture sighted classic target .22. I've been looking at a 513t, a Win 75t, and a Win 52 locally. The 75t has a Lyman rear sight with a front post. The 513t is a US Property marked one, and wears proper Redfield Olympic...

    savage project finally done

Re: savage project finally done Great looking gun you have sir. If you don't mind me asking, other than the action truing and brake install, did you consider assembling the rifle yourself? I am considering a Savage for a build largely for that reason, I want to do as much of the work myself...

    New Savage 338 Lapua

Re: New Savage 338 Lapua You know, much as I like 700's, at least the next 2 rifles I buy will be Savages. In terms of user service and adjustability, performance out of the box, and in my opinion innovation they have more to offer. That changes when you start looking at true custom rifles...

Show Ur 'Ole School ' precision sticks

Re: Show Ur 'Ole School ' precision sticks Some nice guns int his thread, but that Swede takes the cake! My goodness is that a nice looking gun. I've wanted a 6.5 for a long time and have a pre letter prefix 700 LA just waiting for funds to make it happen. Thanks for the shot in the arm.

    Sako, Rock, Manners, LongRifles

Re: Sako, Rock, Manners, LongRifles Gorgeous rifle sir. The initial groups are really good. I can't quite imagine just how good they will be once you settle on a type of ammo and get the barrel broken in. I've been dreaming of a similar Anschutz MPR build. The long barrel makes the gun for me.

Savage Stock (TR) now at Boyds

Re: Savage Stock (TR) now at Boyds Does anyone know of other online place to find mag floor plates for these? Stocky's are out, and my searches haven't found any. I really like the version of this I have for my 10/22. This one has a longer LOP, and unfortunately the inlet will need a lot...

    Cricket 17hmr

Re: Cricket 17hmr All the guns of this type I've seen have been very poor looking. The action in particular looks anemic at best. Spend $100 more and get a Savage repeater, it'll be money well spent.

    Homemade rim thickness gauge

Re: Homemade rim thickness gauge Makes a heck of a lot of sense to me. Thanks for bringing it up again. I'd read about this. A while ago but had forgotten about it.
