    just guessing again here but if the game is under a screw hole, i would assume it would torque the rail at least a bit in some way, remember that is the receipt paper is sliding freely, that the gap is larger than .002"

    I'm not an engineer or anything but i would assume any gap even .003 would cause the Scope base to flex causing the whole set up not to be straight

    Yes i bedded it, i didn't want to take any chances with a uso scope, its very easy to do, just make sure to use a good amount of release agent

    once i'm ready with the bedding material on the back part of the rail, do i just hand tighten the front screws or torque them? and anyone know if a rem 700 bolt guide will work for the AE?

    unforunately not, My plastic packaging said AIAE 2.0, definitely for my version. I was able to get them on, its just that 1 and possibly a second were cross threaded and needed to be chased to properly install them.

    Thanks for your input, thats similar to the trouble i was having. On another note, did you or anyone else get the set screws that hide inside the skins to cover the holes for the side rail mounting? I got actual screws that have a head and stick out from the skins when screwed down.
