I think most people on here agree that a bore needs to be a fouled a bit in order to shoot well. I typically see my groups tighten up after 40 rounds or so.
So I went to load develop yesterday. My load is 168gr Hornady BTHP with IMR 4064 powder in a Remington case. This is for 308 Win. I got about 4 good loads that got good groups. I'm trying to decide which is best. I started at 39.8 and went up to the Hornady manual max of 41.6gr. I know this is...

totally off topic here but I'm curious as to where you live that forbids handloading? I've never heard of that before. I live in Los Angeles county, CA and I dont have anything like that around me.
I had the sam3 issue on my aiae, .004 piece of paper wouldnt fit all the way but a .002 paper receipt from the grocery store fit well in there and plenty of space to move around. With the torque put on the screws I felt safer bedding.
