New Contest Starting Now! This Target Haunts Me
Tell us about the one that got away, the flier that ruined your group, the zero that drifted, the shot you still see when you close your eyes. Winner will receive a free scope!
Today was a good day of shooting at TVP. A few new faces which is always great to see. Morning started out with a calm wind and a little fog that burned off before we started shooting. Wind slowly picked up during Stage 1 and was shifting/frustrating by the time we finished stage 4.
With the...
I agree with you Nick. If you are expecting to get target precision from a battle rifle without investing some time and money, this is not your rifle. I don't want a billet lower to add weight to the rifle, nor do I want a 26" bull barrel on this so I can utilize a 6.5 caliber. I think it does...
I own one and think it's worth the price of admission. I've upgraded trigger and mounted nightforce 2.5-10x32 mildot.
With the addition of trigger upgrade and handloading it shoots sub moa. I've rang steel with it out to 1000 yards and have yet to have a malfunction through 500 rounds.
It...
I think that's the great thing about the short course. I don't think I'd ever take my Scar 17 to shoot the intimidator, but had a great time shooting it on short course. Having the option to add extra challenges for yourself or shoot it straight up is a bonus.
I've got a dta gen2 and switch between 4 conversion kits. I have a rough idea of what my poi shifts will be between the calibers, but I don't live or die by them. When I swap calibers I make sure that the process is always the same. I also re-zero my rifle which usually only takes a shot or two...
I've got Rifle's Only DVD and have taken Jacob's class. Obviously there is no replacement for live training, but the DVD does mirror the fundamentals that he emphasizes in class. Highly recommended!
Another great day of training at TVP. We had a nice turnout with shooters making several hits on steel. Light shifting winds through out the course kept everything challenging and enjoyable.
Top team was Brian and Evan with a 235. Great to see Father and Son out shooting together, bonus that...
Nice pics Mr. Smith. Weather was nice Saturday and it looks like Sunday turned out to be more of the same. Those new portable shelters are a great idea!
I took last year's rifles only class in Michigan and it was great. I also shoot regularly at Thunder Valley Precision.
If your time is limited to a weekend and your local range a couple times a month, then I would recommend the Rifles Only class. If you can commit to a couple matches a month...
Took my wife to Thunder Valley Precision over the weekend. It was her first time shooting past 100 yards. She made hits on 12"x12" steel at 1k and a mile(I've since been busy with lots of reloading) .
Conditions were excellent and calling out corrections were made easy with Zen Ray spotting...
Great video Killswitch
Killswitch was nice enough to let my shooting partner and myself check out some of his night vision gear. Great stuff! The Shoot itself was tough. Had a couple of guys walk off the course and humbled the rest of us. Learned a bunch and was a great experience overall.
I'm running 37.5 varget with 123.0gr nosler out to 600 yards. Also using 37 varget with my 139.0gr Scenar for 1000+. Tried 37 varget with 140 hybrid but stopped after pressure signs.
***update*** started piercing primer during match. Looks like 37gr. Varget is right on the edge with 139.0gr...
