    Cheaper then Dirt Boycott

Re: Cheaper then Dirt Boycott I have never bought anything from CTD, but I can understand their dilemma. Say I am a retailer and that I need 100 AR's (or mags, or ammo, or whatever) on stock at all times to meet the needs of my customers. All of a sudden, the suppliers I buy from jack up...

    Vectronix Terrapin

Re: Vectronix Terrapin As of last Wednesday, the Botachtactical.com price of $1,795 for the Terrapin was adjusted back up to $1,995. I was set to buy last week - just waiting to hear back on an email confirmation that the units were in stock (got tired of holding & leaving messages on their...

Hunting & Fishing 6 months to live. PLEASE READ!!

Re: 6 months to live. PLEASE READ!! My schedule is pretty jammed for the next several months, but I live in Phoenix and would be more than happy to provide transportation up and back. Let me know the dates. If they are open in my schedule, I'll play taxi for up to five others.

Advanced Marksmanship Shooting to 1000 yards in Arizona

Re: Shooting to 1000 yards in Arizona Although there is a lot of open ground around Phoenix, most of it is not suitable for longrange shooting. BLM has posted a bunch of "No Shooting" signs on its property because it has fielded a lot of complaints from the public wanting to use it, but...

    NEW CZ models

Re: NEW CZ models I just bought the CZ 455 in 17hmr from Bud's for under $400. I'm really pleased with the fit and finish of the rifle. Feels like a centerfire. The "backwards" safety does take some getting used to. Accuracy was .75 MOA out of the box - and that was with the typical CZ...

    300BLK bolt gun question....

Re: 300BLK bolt gun question.... The noise level will be pretty close to that of a 45 cal pistol: think of a 45 auto with a 235 grain bullet traveling at 1000 fps. Because of the longer barrel it will be slightly quieter than the pistol, but you will still need ear protection.

LWRC 10.5 SBR 6.8 with Trijicon and doc optic

Re: LWRC 10.5 SBR 6.8 with Trijicon and doc optic I am in the process of putting together a SBR in 300 Whisper on an M4 platform. I plan on using a simple 4X scope to develop a load and then a drop table out to 200-300 yds. Once I have the amount of drop, I will try to match that up with...

    Gain twist for a .338LM

Re: Gain twist for a .338LM I have a 270 Win. built on a mauser 98 action with a custom 26" barrel that starts with 1 in 14 and ends with a 1 in 10 twist at the muzzle. The technology has been around for quite some time now. This rifle has always been accurate, but I haven't been able to...

    remington, sako, or tikka?

Re: remington, sako, or tikka? If we are talking out-of-the-box accuracy, then my vote goes first to Sako and then to Tikka. If $$$ are tight, go with the Tikka and put the savings into better optics. Remington? Stick with a Sendero if you want good off-the-shelf accuracy. If you think...

Gunsmithing 243 Tactical Match Reamer from PTG

Just completed similar post on LRH. I'm looking to chamber a new barrel in PTG's 243 Tactical Match. This rifle will be a truck gun and not a LR rig. I will probably have a local BR smith do the work for me. Not sure if I should buy the reamer and then resell, or simply rent it. New cost is...

Rifle Scopes Which spotting scope for competition?

Re: Which spotting scope for competition? +1 more on the Kowa. I did my own test, side by side, between the Kowa 65 and the Swaro 65. The Outdoorsman in Phoenix allowed us to test both several times during the day, particularly in low-light conditions. Both were on tripods and pointed at a...
