New Contest Starting Now! This Target Haunts Me
Tell us about the one that got away, the flier that ruined your group, the zero that drifted, the shot you still see when you close your eyes. Winner will receive a free scope!
I use an rcbs rockchucker press but have used Lee dies for years with no issues. I get good enough accuracy with Lee dies, especially their collet neck die that I often wonder why Ive bought higher priced dies. Seems like I started out with the rock chucker kit when it was on sale at midway...
A recently a couple months ago got a TT special straight shoe. Breaks perfectly clean no creep or overtravel. I just can’t get the thing to not feel heavier although the pull gauge shows it’s breaking the same weight as my jewels. It’s the first straight I’ve had. Perhaps that’s the...
I agree. I’ll be tempted to test a better bc bullet when I run out of 175smk’s. They are hard to leave because they aren’t finicky to jump. Im still burning a factory Remington 5r milspec barrel which has a huge jump. I would love to true it and Rebarrel but it shoots good enough I can’t...
And as far as reloads go you can’t go wrong with Lapua Brass, cci or federal match primer and whichever powder charge of varget or imr 4064 your rifle likes best. I’ve had excellent results with both those powders.
I’ve always shot the 175 for the higher bc. The 168 is fine to 600 or 800 or something around there. Someone will likely chime in more familiar with the 168. A fairly local 1000 yard match range won’t allow 168 smk because they typically won’t stabilize out to 1000 yards.
That depends on which day you ask my chronograph lol. I need to upgrade apparently. It’s consistent measuring extreme spread but temperature or light or something makes it read higher or lower by as much as 100 FPS from one day to he next. Dial up holds right with factory 140 eld match which...
Don’t think you could go wrong with either one. That being said I have an atlas and I really like it. Especially for the price I consider it a lot of bang for your buck
Like the previous reply my mindset on mpa used to be they make funky/odd/different guns. Well after shooting one of their builds a buddy bought I was quite impressed. I think they have regrouped their company for the better these days. 3/8 moa Guarantee with a quality custom action for the...
I was recently in the same boat and decided to test the 140 Eld and the 140 Berger hybrid. My rifle just flat likes the 140 eld. Test loads from 41-43 grains all under 5/8 moa at 100. Best consistent powder charge and chrono numbers led me to stick with 41.5 grains H4350 in a Hornady case...
I’ve heard several people say soaking in a mixture of water and Lemi shine household cleaner works good for cleaning muzzle brakes. I haven’t personally tried it but plan to...
We are both using H4350. It’s hard to beat the 140 eld in these rifles. That’s what both of ours are throated for. You can load them closer to the lands and still fit in the mag. Mine shot under 5/8 moa with all charges from 41.5-43 but velocity es numbers were better around 41.5 and that’s...
Both mine and my buddy’s mpa’s are Creedmoor’s throated for the 140 eld. I’ve never tried any lighter bullets because I like the bc of the 140’s. I’ve had great accuracy with the 140 eld and 140 Berger hybrid
Also I like you was skeptical at first as all research and reviews mainly talk about their chassis. But after shooting my buddy’s I bit the bullet and bought one. Glad I did...no complaints
