I'm using the side focus on my scope and I can seem to get it adjusted to eliminate parallax. I am able to set it so that when I check by nodding my head, the reticle doesn't move in relation to the target, but if I check going side to side, there's about a 1 mil shift. Any ideas?
I know what you mean. It didn't look like dust or smoke.
I should also add that I don't experience this problem during dry fire practice out my window.
I had a strange occurrence happen at the range today. I was looking through my scope and for short periods of time, everything would get blurry. It didn't look like mirage but more like when a scope isn't focused at all. This would last for 10-20 seconds at a time.
Could this be dust or smoke...

I just went to take some pics of the fake one I have. Notice how the screws are all warped. I only mounted this twice. The machining on the mount is of low quality. Also, looking through the glass, there is a very noticeable pincushion effect.
I have a knock off magnifier on an airsoft gun. I've also played around with the real deal a bunch of times at the shops. There's a few things that might help:
- the flip mount on the fake has a bit of wiggle. The real is snug and there's no play.
- eye relief on the real is better
